But back on topic, we have solaris, that is what MWO is and has been. I am wondering when it will actually become a resemblance of the game I helped found.

Solaris VII would be slightly different; whether FFA or team based, perhaps with more restrictions.
Honestly? Stock mech VS stock mech is pretty fun. We got 7 Myth Lynx Primes together and shot each other for 8 minutes until nearly everyone ran out of ammo...then the ramming started.
Or the Loki, for lots of heat, little armour, and little cooling.
It's a very different game to the PUG LIFE, or any competitive event. It's fun.

Where is the free-for-all mode? None? Then it's not Solaris.

Don't spend money that's up to you OP but MWO is not Solaris.

The betting will probably never even happen. PGI would be suicidal to try it. First thing that happens when people lose their C-Bills is bitching that matches were fixed, well-known units are dominating, etc. and start going after PGI for remuneration. And since C-Bills are earned in part by actual monetary currency, gambling laws will call the entire mode into question.
What we need is new gamemodes for CW.

MWO = Arena Death Match
Need I say more?
MWO as we all know has failed to live up to any realistic expectations. 3 years in and the game in essence has not changed since it went into Open beta. The "grandness" that was promised fell to the way side along time ago. Arena Death match is all that it is, and area death match is what Solaris was all about. So in essence we have Solaris. Now if we get an arena map there would be no disputing it ;pp
Course I am sure that map would have grass as high as the cockpit of an atlas as well.

It's always been about fighting giant robots, as the previous MW games have been.

Also not supported by their creators other than minor tweaks
We founded a game that every battle was actually suppose to mean something. Rememberwhen CW as only 90 days away? 2 years later it finally showed up in the craptastic mode we have now.
Yeah, not so much 3 years later.
Arena Death match

There's nothing stopping PGI from giving our MP battles a plot... except they don't want to lay off artists and hire coders / engineers / writers / a designer or two.
I would gladly pay a subscription for a balanced, slow paced (read: not the 80+ kph, alpha spam twitch shooter we have now), teamwork requiring mech FPS...
Or if you don't want to call it a subscription.... call it "needing premium time".

Exactly
What we were promised and what was delivered is not even close. I mean seriously how much income have they gained from the players?

It just makes sense- Solaris is a lore-friendly and very established way to really embrace their goal of a relatively casual, F2P shooter with an e-sports mentality. Would have allowed it to stand out as something unique in the BT franchise and given them more freedom to do their own thing.
Instead, they've spent the last... uh... three, four years now pretending that their game stands up to the previous mostly sim/objective based MechWarrior games, which it does not, at all. Since most people want to see it as MechWarrior 5, there's obviously expectations that come with that, which MWO hasn't truly delivered on.

At no point have I ever heard Solaris described purely as a 'free-for-all arena'. MW4 did a cool Solaris inspired mode which acted like a free-for-all, and while that's certainly part of it, Solaris would certainly also have team based events, duels, etc etc.
And since that is exactly what we have now, minus the crowd sound effects, I don't get where you're getting the 'troll post' stuff from.

LOL my point exactly, we have Solaris, I mean its been 3 years, whats been added to the game that has made it any better?
I mean seriously what in game content has made this game better?
NO player progression, No balance to speak of, the new maps are nothing but someone wanting to show how much clutter than can spread about.
MWO is arena Deathmatch and that is all it will ever be
Such a great opportunity and they have utterly wasted it.

MWO was pitched on the premise of being Mechwarrior like we'd never seen it. I'd like to see some creativity in fusing plot and multiplayer. Or at the very least making deathmatch a little more complex (like my sig). Too much to ask?
