So far I like the Crab. And yes, STD seems to be the way to go. Usually my arms go first, then my side torsos, leaving me with my CT and my head still sporting three medium lasers until I fall over dead.

If you shove an XL325 or XL350 in there you're fast enough to get away with it, but going slow with an XL in the crab is a death sentence.

The crabs and std thing cracked me up.

It's even more funny that it wasn't intentional. PGI has given a lot of players crabs. STDs have been pretty common but the days of crabs for free are over. Pretty much of you want crabs from pgi now you're going to pay up, also STDs.

They have very nicely balanced hitboxes, more like a Stalker than a Catapult, which means you need a STD Engine. I've only played a double handful of drops since the patch and already I've killed or seen killed a lot of XL Crabs.

i had to pay them for crabs. but its ok, they were more expensive than my doctor bills.

besides i have to admit i kind of wanted crabs, i thought it would make people like me.

Oh. I thought you were pointing me out because it looked like I didn't get the joke. My bad then.

Still on the fence about the XLs. Having played more, I can definitely confirm that the STs are super easy to hit. I can't have a match without one being stripped, and every death thus far has been ST loss. At the same time, XLs help you get a worthwhile amount of pew pew (or wub wub), and the CRB-20's XL 350 5 MPL shenanigans are way too fun to pass up.
Maybe I'm just spoiled by Clan mechs and a STD Crab ( ) can actually pack a reasonable amount of firepower so I'm just dumb for putting XLs in all of my crabs. I don't know. I'm still hoping someone can give us an idea on the ST hitboxes.
