I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

P.S: Nothing against you, but our little cheese eaters will always trumph those ugly pads. ^_^

K/M combo pales to a controller. We ALL know that.

And don't even throw that fake MS test that guys have been trying to say PROVES that k/m is better. I have seen some pros on the controller that would smoke just about anyone on a kybrd/mous. No comparison.

To each his own comfort level I guess, but, for me it's gotta be a HOTAS + K/M + MFD's + anything else it takes to get the most out of the sim. Trust me, if this goes like I see so far, that X360 controller is not going to be near enough capable, and you're going to have to ratchet up your needs. MW4 alone had over 40 Individual keyboard bindings PLUS what was available for the joystick. I just don't see how you're going to get all that out of a console controller....IJMO.

In all honesty, I plan to go full out joystick and the works for this game. I was only prepared for the controller back when they were still teasing the 360 guys with the idea of this game being on the xbox.

If this is actually a Mechwarrior game, the only ones who could play this game with an Xbox controller are fighting game fanatics.

RThumbHalfcircleClockwise+A+L1 = Coolant Flush
RThumbHalfcircleCClockwise+A+L1 = Ammunition Jettison

... and so forth.

Hey, I figure use what you want. But without aim assist (hopefully) using a pad is going to get old very quickly, I think.

This is one of those subjects where anyone can argue all they like, but it really comes down to personal preference. if the man wants to use a joypad, that's up to him, so long as he's happy, right?

The sensitivity is almost universally adjustable on the controllers these days. I can move the crosshairs across the screen as fast, if not faster than a mouse can get there, in some cases.

Let them laugh all they want.

hahaha, wait. So you reject anecdotal evidence as potential proof that your side of the argument is wrong/unsound, but then supply your own anecdotal evidence as proof that your argument is actually right/sound? lol.. please pull your head out of your ***..

I know game pads don't even come close to the ability of a mouse and keyboard. Microsoft DID try that with another FASA game called Shadowrun. One of the largest complaints was that console players couldn't compete with PC players. How many crossplatform servers do you see?

That aside, if MWO is anything approaching a sim, the gamepad would work about as good as a macbook wheel.

But if there is any single reason the devs shouldn't add game pad support, it's that the time to do so would mean 1 less mech in the game. To hell with your game pad, I want more mechs.

... and the congregation said "Amen".

That said I don't mind pads and other types of input devices being supported since there are folks with chronic arthritis and such that play games better with certain devices, but they can all be added post-release rather than pre-release.

I would rather them focus on what they are already doing with joysticks and M/KB.

I agree, focus on k/m and joystick first. That will be the bread and butter input.

Agreed!

Gimme my joystick and i'll show you all xbox controller users :)

........Mainly joking xD
But i do believe that the controller does not have enough buttons for a MechWarrior game nor does it have the same feel as piloting with a joystick.

Cheers

Seeing as this is game is licensed from Microsoft, I'm sure xbox controllers will be supported.

So don't use one then. Not everyone wants to play the same way you do.

The point I was trying to make was not mocking the OP, just that there is no possible way that an Xbox 360 gamepad could be used without making the game unplayable.

Considering the game isn't even out yet, that's a pretty sweeping statement even by my standards; we have no idea how complex or simple the controls are going to be,

For all we know, my x52 with forty million billion configurations could be completely overkill when all I'll actually need is a trigger finger.

WHO KNOWS!
