This thread died fast. Must be some truth in that it's hard to find love for these free mechs. Guess in going to shelve the WVR until they give it -100% UAC jam chance. -30% is useless.

As for Cicada (didn't get), it can run my old favorite 2LL, 2ML.

Why 10 armor on the right leg and max armor on the left arm? The left arm is totally expendable a leg is not.

I have had success with this wolvi
http://mwo.smurfy-ne...2a591d268accf0c

It doesn't get great damage but with the masc you can quickly engage and disengage the enemy when you main assault ball hits.
It is also just plain fun to play, if that still counts ;)

edit: I left out one jump jet in that build, so it does have one in whichever torso you want it in.

Similar to your build is my wolverine design.

I use 2x SRM4s without the asrtemis (I find SRM4s fire tight enough) 2 tons SRM ammo in the left leg.

Upgraded the engine to a 280XL (same tonnage as the 275xl so may as well C-bills permitting)

UAC5 with 1.5 tons ammo in the RA and 2 more tons in the RL.

Medium Pulse in the head.

BAP in the CT

4 jumpjets.

Stripped the LA armor to 18 (nothing in there to armor up)
Maxed out the rest of the armor and pulled some rear armor to the front torsos.

MASC in the RT.

My Zeus...

stock 320XL w/14 DHS,Endo Steel max standard armor (except -7 off each leg)

2x AC5 in the LA, 1 ton ac ammo H, 1 ton AC ammo LA, 2 tons AC ammo LL , 1/2 ton AC ammo CT.

2 Large Lasers LT.

3x SRM 4 RA w/ 2 tons SRM ammo RL.

Best Cicada 3F build is 2LL+2ML, in my opinion. The ER PPC builds and ERLL builds are fun, but they're too hot and everybody knows they're too hot. Those guys always get swarmed by enemy lights and mediums who know they're easy kills in a brawl.

I had a guy in a CDA-3F with 1 ERPPC and 3 Flamers attacking me the other day. I don't know if he thought the flamers would make me panic or overheat, but he was the only one overheating in the end. And then I took his legs off with my CDA-3F laserboat. <shrug>

I put 2xCLRM10 and 4xCERML on my Loyalty Nova, just for the lulz. The thought of using the Nova as an LRM boat amuses me, because it's such a bad idea. But it's not a terrible build. It's mediocre.

well my builds are for cw

also i dont really see how chaining 3 ll is worse than chaining 2ll and 2 meds... a properly played brawling light will kill you anyway

I've been struggling with my Executioners to begin with, but I settled on this build, trying to utilize something unique about the EXE-C.

2UAC10 4ERSL

Works well for training grounds, and in the one match I've used it so far it seemed to perform/feel well.

For my Cicada, I went with the tried and true build. Though jumping with 8JJ in testing grounds was a whole lot of fun!

2LL 2ML 3JJ XL300

2 games, doing well. When I've spectated builds running 4ML they seem to work quite well. Nice and fast and jumpy.

I don't own any other Nova or Wolverine, so I haven't been inspired to use those yet. Both chassis seems a bit dull to me...
Wish the L mech was a Griffin, those at least look sweet. :)

To get the most out of the Cicada I went with LPL+3xML+XL300+4xJJ. It feel much more agile and durable then my other Cicadas, but it cannot match the quirked powah of the 2B.

As for the Wolvie: UAC5, 2xSRM6+A, XL300, 4xJJ. I ditched the MASC and MPL.
I use some long range UAC poking, some short range SRM-poptarting, and of course some brawling. SRMs seem to register better when chain fired, so the only viable tactic is to constantly rock the enemy with chainfire and hope for him to panic & overheat. So there is a chance to win a 1vs1 fight if you catch a laser-vomit-clanner at short range. Unless it's a C-SPL boat. Then you're dead.

Against a competent enemy this mech is less useful than a Shadowhawk. But at least is is better than a Trebuchet! The loyality Centurion is much more effective at earning C-Bills.

You have to be a special kind of crazy to try brawling in a Trenchbucket! I like you :-)

Actually I built a Stormcrow with 4 ER meds 2 LRM 15s 6 tons ammo a TAG and active probe and find the manuverability granted more opertunities to lock and fire than what many think to be a more tradisional LRM carrier.

The nova would lose some ground speed but gain jumpjets so it may not be so bad either.

712 DMG match in this video. Consistently in the 450 range most matches.

I'm surprised they didn't give the Wolverine missile spread reduction quirks on top of the velocity. Velocity makes it more reliable. But spread would make them more damage effective, without being as high on the power creep.

The UAC5 jam chance reduction isn't horrible. But they could have thrown in some other quirks to shore it up. Like a velocity and range quirk to make it reliable at a longer range.

It really feels like they didn't want people criticizing them with player BS conspiracies about pay to win. But they could have given them a little more of a touch.
