These mechs...is this the only way to obtain these mechs?
Funds are limited, any outstanding mechs in this batch? I was considering the TBR and/or the ZEU and that's $150 right there >:X

at current some of those varients are gift store exclusives, but soon they should be available for cbills, others are heroes which would usualy cost MC, this promotion justs gets you a little extra thrown in with the purchase of MC, think of them as simular to a buy 2 get 1 free type offer you may find in a shop.
there are other variants for those chassis (e.g. you can get other Zeus or Timber Wolf variants, with different hardpoints) for most of which available for cbills in game

The Mechs you are interrested in (Timberwolf and Zeus) are both regular mechs which can be bought with ingame currency you earn through playing. EDIT: OK, not sure if they are gift store mechs or not, so take the last point with a grain of salt. Thanks for the ninja correction Rogue Jedi
The various extras in the "Killer deals" are just bonus additions for buying MC (real money game currency).
If you were planning on buying MC anyways, then you can either go for the packet you want from the table (please note, that you only get the one bonus for the size of MC package and date you purchase them in) or you can wait for a short while when the Black Friday sales come around. In the past years the Black Friday sales gave a certain percentage of excra MC instead of Mechs or cockpit items like in this sale.

A lot of events as well as faction ranks from community warfare will do the trick.
With the exception of the urban'mech and all current early access 'mechs you can get every 'mech ingame for free.
(thought, depending how much time you put into the game it can take a while to get what you want)

To note on this: Even "gift store mechs" are "to be released" after being dangled behind a pay wall temporarily.

The long and short of the sales and such back to back is that PGI clearly has some sort of income goal that they are trying very hard to reach. Could be related to the map-redux costs and/or new maps, or something to do with a large overhaul on something about MWO. Either way they apparently have a stretch goal that they are shooting for. Support if you can, otherwise get the mechs by playing the game and using regular earnings.

As for the HERO mechs, if you're REALLY REALLY heart-set on getting one of them, AND you'd like some MC and a new mech bay, then it MIGHT be fine to go ahead and schedule your MC purchase along those lines.
That's the one real exception.
Otherwise, buy the MC because you WANT the MC, and if you get something with it that you DON'T want, well, you don't HAVE to keep it. (FTR: Cockpit items can't be gotten rid of. They're kinda like virtual ******, without the embarrassing discussion with your new g/f.)

It was a little overwhelming with what seemed like wave after wave of mech packages. I don't even have enough time to play all of them as it is.
