Color posts dont work on the forums. Atleast that i know.

I pilot bad mechs all the time. Atlas & Orions.

I think i do pretty well in Orions. About 300-400 average. And 500-600 in a rocking game. 700-800 is very exceptional and hard to get that.

I'm happy though. For a shitmech it isnt that bad. But it's probaly i am experienced with the Atlas and the Orion is basically a mini Atlas.

It depends... I have an upper limit for the amount of junk I can pilot, I think.

I admit I sold my Awesomes and Victors recently when their horrid performance just got to me. Their geometry is terrible, their hardpoints are poorly placed, the Awesome lacks ballistics and depends upon (worthless) missiles, while the Victor's are just undergunned from a practical viewpoint. I replaced them with Zeus's - not great, but far better geometry and hardpoint variety and numbers, and they are much more fun to run.

On the other hand, I still have my Tier 4 Atlas D, and that's not going anywhere because it works "well enough" unlike the mechs I sold. I also can see the Atlas being made useful again without too much effort, while the sold mechs are just junk without major changes that involve hardpoints, etc.

The so called bad mechs are nothing but a few players giving opinions that others seem to cling to. I can do well in any mech I pilot, especially in a capable team.

The summoner is one of my favs. Uac10 ppc and lrm 15.

For the record I never gone beyond 700 dmg

I have to disagree with the statement that "bad mechs are nothing but opinions."

Explain to me, objectively, how an Awesome is better than a Zeus, for example?

Note that I won't count Quirks since those change all the time. The Zeus has: better geometry (smaller), ballistics options, and a higher engine cap. The Awesome has... um.... greater twist range? Objectively, the Awesome is junk compared to the Zeus.

Now, Quirks can change this, and maybe, someday, in the Great Rebalancing, all mechs will somehow be unique, balanced, and fun, but to say that "all mechs are equal, it's just the pilot" is simply not true objectively. Heck, I have many hours in my Awesomes and yet my K/D ratio in my not-fully-leveled Zeuses is already higher than it ever was in the fully-leveled Awesomes. The brutal reality is that the Zeus handles like an Awesome, but I can use a Gauss Rifle or a pair of AC5's, and my hitboxes are better - no contest as to which mech wins.

I don't have any bad mechs. If you have a bad mech, you're doing it wrong.

I drive funbuilds whenever I feel like it. (above links as 1 example)
Be it in a "bad" or "good" mech. It's a game. I'm here to enjoy myself ;)

My very favorite 'mech is my Raven 2X.
I really want to love my Locust 1V (and make some money in it), but I just can't make it work.

I'm leveling Adders right now.
Lots of fun.
Adders are "bad", right?

They're decent if you play them as a medium mech.
They just suck at being lights.

Unpopular 'Mechs? As much as I can. Piloting them will:
  • Improve you as a pilot, since you have to make up for their deficiencies by playing better.
  • Let you learn new gameplay styles you've been missing out. Most of the "bad" 'Mechs are actually quite workable if you adjust your gameplay.
  • Improve your Mechlab-fu skills.
So drop your crutches and get out of your comfort zone if you want to improve. If all you care about is winning and KDR, you're missing out the point of this game.

I like to think of the Adder as a "Tiny Assault".
They are not made for racing around the map, flanking and poking enemies on their own.
They are made for sticking with the fatties, support flanks, maybe fend off lights or provide additional firepower quickly where needed. After all, a Wubber (2xLPL) is half a Wubhawk. Even in height, which means perfect cover.

I have quite a few "bad" mechs. Some of them are actually a lot of fun to drive.................and I play for the fun of the game.

Lately I've been enjoying Vindicators, Wolverine 7K, Locusts, Jenner D, Adders and Shadowcats. I've been working on Summoners as well, when the heavy Que isn't too busy. Meta is kinda boring IMO.

Well, let's see, here's a list of bad mechs you can catch me or my alt in:
Wolverines
Mad Dogs
Novas
Shadow Cats
Warhawks

And here's a list of bad mechs that are so bad even I gave up on them:
Myst Lynx
Ice Ferret
Gargles

On the fence:
Summoner - I want to like it, but man, it doesn't make it easy. Maybe some day I'll find a way to make it work.

I have the ability, earned through hard work and dedication, to make almost any mech a bad mech.

My current worst mech? The Timberwolf. I strap into that puppy and get my ass handed to me all the time.
