Has anyone worked out the range of Match Scores which lead to the various levels of increase or decrease in Player Skill Rating?

Paul explained in this thread how Low Match Score, Medium Match Score, High Match Score and Very High Match Score would change a player's PSR, depending on whether that player's team won or lost.

I'm trying to deduce what Match Score equates to "Low, "Medium", "High" and "Very High".

EDIT: I've updated the graphic below to show these scores, as provided by El Bandito, for everyone's benefit and understanding.

(If you're not interested in PSR or its mechanics, don't feel compelled to participate in this thread. We will understand that you don't agree with PSR, or that people give a toss about PSR, etc. ;) Cheers!)

I would like to think it's based off your team mates match scores and how your score deviates from theirs.

If everybody on your teams gets less than 100 and you get 300, your score should go up as you probably shouldn't be playing with those players.

It's going to be hard to define ranges on small, medium and large increases on a win.

Can help on the loss side: got 286 score on a loss last night and got an " = " on PSR.

While I agree with you philosophically, I haven't seen any evidence of relativity. I think they are using hard clip levels.

My experience (Tier 2):

Defeat: >= 250 lets you stay even
Win: < 100 lets you stay even.

Not sure about uprating on a defeat and downrating on a win. Never had those two so far.

I think this is WAY to easy for wins and WAY to hard for defeats.
If a team gets roflstomped, it's quite a performance to get to ~200 score (that's about 400 damage and 1 kill), but the PSR says "No, you're bad, down with you!".

On the other hand, ~105 score on the winning team is a really lousy performance. Ok, the team won. So the lousy player can stay even. But REWARD the measly ~105 score? Not really...

Also, because raw damage values (no matter the actual contribution) is so ridiculously overrated in match score (about ~80-90% of the score comes only from damage), it educates people to fixate on dealing as much damage as possible to avoid a downrate, no matter if it actually is a contribution to the team (Lurms, anyone?)

PSR is a nice idea in principle, but the weights are currently not very sane or fair.
More on that here.

IIRC I had a loss with a 400-something match score and my PSR went up. I'd have to look through my folder to see if I got a screenshot of it.

Last 2 days ive been grinding 3 Shadowcat. Together that have 0.75 win rate and a kdr of 0.6, yet ive gone up in XP. I now screenshot every end night. Wining big is more important than losing all the time.

On Loss: It is <101 = large drop, 101-250 = medium drop, 251-400 = even, 400< = small rise.
On Win: It is <101 = even, 101-250 = small rise, 251-400 = medium rise, 400< = large rise.

Basically 150 points difference per level.

The biggest problem is the matchscore calculation. You are forced to play bad and aim bad so u can push your dmg which leads to a good matchscore. If u solo a whole lance with 350 dmg but your team lose at the end u wont get >400 matchscore.

I have no idea about the size of the change, but it seems they are indeed using hard clip levels. I got the "=" while having 250+ matchscore on a loss.
And to make that even more hilarious, they are apparently using the same levels regardless of mech. Yes, your Spider 5K is treated exactly the same as your Direwhale...

Mech selection: now part of player skill. Fun is for the underhive only.

Win:
<100 - No Change - You did poorly, but if you team managed to win your actions was not in vain, so your tier was right and will stay the same.
101-250 - Small Rise - You did what is expected from your tier and the team won, that means you will raise just a bit to give you more time to train before going to a higher tier.
251-399 - Medium Rise - You did more than expected and is getting ready to face harder opponents.
400+ - Biggest Rise - You proved your skills are much above your tier, wrecking faces and leading the team to victory, so you must move faster to the next one to save the scrubs from your mighty presence.

Loss:
<100 - Largest Drop - You are not ready to face the opponents suggested by your tier, so you must move down quickly before ruining your game experience.
101-250 - Medium Drop - Even doing the expected score to your tier, your actions did not helped much your team and it lost the match anyway, so you are moving down a bit - and if it keeps happening, you probably need to face easier opposition so your tier will be, eventually, downgraded.
251-399 - No Change - You did great but your team managed to lose anyway, so it's probably not your fault. Your skillz are right or even higher for the tier, so it will stay the same so you can prove yourself on other matches.
400+ - Small Rise - You proved you are much above your tier level and you don't deserve to play with the scrubs - who just made you lose the match - then you are moving up a bit to help reach the right tier for you.

Something doesn't compute.

I only rarely get a match score >400. If I'm honest, I don't even score over 250 all that regularly since I'm almost always leveling up some new Mech or other. If I had to guess, I'd say that most of my games fall into the 100-250 range, which is "smallest rise" in a win but "medium drop" in a loss.

I do probably get more 250-400 range wins ("medium rise") than <100 losses ("largest drop"), but both cases are uncommon enough that it could still be a net loss overall.

All of this leads me to believe that my PSR should be dropping... but it isn't. It's very slowly rising. At the very worst it is holding steady, but I'm pretty sure I'm getting a net increase of about a pixel every 20 games or so.

Not sure what's going on...

From what I've observed:

WIN
400+ = Large PSR Increase
250-399 = Medium PSR Increase
100-249 = Small PSR Increase
0-99 = No Change

LOSS
400+ = Small PSR Increase
250-399 = No Change
100-249 = Medium PSR decrease
0-99 = Large PSR decrease

So far, in T4, I'm increasing my PSR by about 0.75% each match on average. I expect that to drop to about 0.5% when I hit T3, and 0.25% at T2.

I think there are two unknowns that contribute to what increases or decreases the PSR:

1 )Tier level - there are probably different spreads for the low, medium, high, very high scores based on what tier the player is in, or possibly what the average tier level of the players in the match was.

2) Different PSR adjustments based on match actions independent of match score. E.g. 'Spot' is always the same match score, but may be weighted higher for Lights than it is on Assaults for PSR modification.

These two items would explain why people have such widely different results when it comes to the thresholds of things like remaining the same or going up on a loss. I've had a 368 match score loss that was a down rating, yet some people have posted similar or lower scores that were equal or up ratings on a loss.
