Where do you hear they get wiped out? Smoke Jaguar gets wiped out in 3060 with the SLDF counter-attack, but Clan Wolf doesn't go away.

iirc jade falcon wipes them out or at the least severely cripples them in one of the stackpole novels.

They were almost absorbed by JF, but Vlad Ward challenged Falcon Khan Chistu to a Trial of Greivance and killed him. They were temporarily renamed Clan Jade Wolf until Vlad later challenged Falcon Khan Crichell, killing him in unarmed combat. Vlad then retook the name Clan Wolf.

That's somewhat understating one of the key events in BattleTech history:

Newly deposed ilKhan Ulric Kerensky, in a crowning moment of awesome, turns legal shenanigans to usurp his leadership into an all out war against the Jade Falcons that pretty much puts an end to the Clan invasion of the Inner Sphere. After being absorbed by Clan Jade Falcon, the Crusader aligned elements of his own clan, crippled by the conflict, reform a new clan under the old Wolf banner. Meanwhile, the original Clan Wolf takes up residence in the Inner Sphere as its protectors.

So... Clan Wolf doesn't really get wiped out. It actually multiplies!
