Maybe I just don't find it but is there a way to toggle zoom levels up and down by moving the wheel of the mouse?

Forum search did yield only threads from 2013

Use a 3rd party software utility* to remap your "mouse wheel up" to a letter, then set that letter to "zoom in" your MWO keyboard options.

Similarly remap "mouse wheel down" to a different letter, etc.


* most gaming mouses come bundled with such software.

I've been using the mouse wheel for zooming in and out for ages. You can set it up in the key settings.

Like he said. I've been using it for zoom ever since I stopped trying to play with a gamepad.

Just double click the alternate box next to zoom in, and then roll your mouse wheel forward.

I just remaped the zoom keys in the options to the zoom wheel..

Works like a charm.. couldn't use it any differently..

Forward roll backward roll each to consumables.

I only use the toggle x2 zoom; saves a button. I use the mouse wheel up/down to toggle night/heat vision and I have consumables on my Proteus Core buttons on the side of button 1: easy aiming of arty strikes.

Yes.

Setting > Options.

Your looking for Set Max Zoom Level or Set Zoom Level 2. Not in game to post exact wording.

One of the above will set max zoom to 2x and stop one setting will activate Adv.Zoom module if equipped.

That will set your zoom level to max when you mouse wheel up, to reset, your looking for something like Reset Zoom Level.

I find level1 zoom to be kind of useless, so I just map my scroll wheel to lvl2 zoom.

No i wouldn't do that, too easy to trigger whatever you assigned to forward and backwards wheel rolls at the same time.

Also many just free wheel if you click it.
