I know if battletech the pilot is supposed to have a 360 view of the battlefield displayed in his cockpit. But if the Thug was transferred to mwo how would it work with that dome thing in front of the cockpit? Is there any fluff reasons why it's there/what it's purpose is? Thanks dudes.

MWO is not Battletech. In Battletech pilots are allowed to fire rear facing weapons or face "swivel" arms backwards, but MWO has no such features.

From the image below I googled I guess you are refering to the plate of metal over the cockpit like a visor or baseball cap brim. Impact on forward visibility is minimal, verticle/upward visibility might be a problem. However, Direwolves have a much larger version and visibility is still decent.

It was designed because they wanted it to look cool with their 80s logic and kinda crap drawing skills

Dun get me wrong, I love the old BT art, but I also love it for the same reason I love the bad fights in Star Trek TOS.

I don't think it would have any more of an impact on it than the Dragons nose or any other things that should get in the way.

Honestly one of the best battlemechs, the Warhammer, had some of the worst view because it has a tiny tank slot for a visor, Still a good mech.
