I like visual customisation, so I'd probably pay for that.
Especially the pink fluffy dice my cockpit needs. Feth hula girls, I want my dice.

Hi all,

Being a long time gamer and a supporter of FTP as long as the "buy a win" mentality stays out of the battlefield (which the devs have said they will do.... please stay that way); I will buy a bunch of stuff to support the economic engine that will help make the game a sucess and continue to evolve.

Nuff said.

Oh god please don't let premium mechs become a thing.

I don't want to see 100+ ton mechs from the future with ultimate instant death beams going for 50 dollars each.

Depends, some games have superior vehicles/equipment for sale/rent as premium items. Other games just give you equipment/vehicles with increased xp/income without an increase in battlefield performance (and sometimes even a drop).... i think the later is fine to sell in a F2P setting, as it does not translate into a real battlefield advantage.

I'll pay for just about everything on that list except for any item better than what can be earned in game. Cosmetics natch. "Premium" pods... I'm wary. I've never played WoT but what are the "gold" items?

There are two currencies in WoT: Gold and Silver. Gold currency in WoT is bought with real money. Silver is earned freely by playing in a match. Players can buy special ammo with gold that has better penetration than normal ammo. They do the same damage, but because of the better penetration it has an increased chance of not bouncing off the target tank. Also, gold can be used to buy large and effective consumables like the Large Repair Kiet. That kit instantly fixes all damaged components (treads, gun, gas tanks, etc.) when used. The smaller kits are bought with Silver currency, and only fix one item of your choice.

I would be willing to pay to get c-bills, while this would allow me to buy things faster than someone whom is grinding c-bills it isn't pay to win.

Extra mech slots would be ok as cash only no c-bill (as this doesn't affect gameplay, no pay to win, also you are given 4 slots for free, but it is a convenience item allowing me to house a larger selection.)

The premium acct is great, extra cbills and exp. Most other F2P games are subscription based; WOW, Wizard101 and others, that lock you in a certain set of levels or area's, as this is PvP that can't happen but I will be willing to pay a small premium each month for a good game with new content (about every 2-3 months something new be it map or mech or weapon) which should happen as the game year progresses.

Vanity stuff, paint, decals, insignia's- ok for cash or c-bills (merc. insignia's may be implemented in-game for a small cash cost paid for by the leader of the outfit {to allow for coding of the insignia into the game code} to be made available to members of his unit on his discretion for a small c-bill cost to the player) House insignia should be c-bill or free.

Just my .02 c-bill's worth of opinion

WoT allows you to buy 'golden' version of items that are just flat out better than the standard version you can buy with credits. Like ammunition that has extremly improved penetration, repair-kits that repair all damage instead of only one module, medkits that heal all crewmen instead of just one, etc, etc.
They are not realy a problem in public matches, as at least i don't know of anyone willing to spend real money on them during such 'trivial' games. But they are the norm in metagame clanmatches, and you'll have to buy them as most clans don't have enough income from the metagame to buy those for their players.

Edit: GargoyleDKR was faster...

I voted for everything but premium mechs. I will not ever support pay to win, and I make enough money to really take advantage of it if I had the chance. I hate to throw in WoT in, but I have played that game from the closed beta to now and one of the biggest mistakes was premium tanks. It completely unballanced the game.

Asked for mention what if chosen "other". I'd be willing to spend on anything but premium ammo/consumables/modules/weapons. And there really are not any premium ammo possibilities in BT universe anyway.

From what i seen World of Tanks is a bad example for pay items. You guys should go play S4 League. they have pay weapons and outfits and buffs but it's done right. They have a random roller where free players have a chance at winning perm weapons and items that is almost equal to the pay items. In S4 League all that pay weapons and armor doesn't give you skills and you can get pawned just has hard as a free player. I know I got the Force Pack weapons and perm armor and i still get one shotted by +2 railgun to the face.

Don't assume that premium mechs, if they even get into the game, will be flat out more powerful. They would just be additional famous variants; the example of premium mech that Bryan or Russ gave was the Yen Lo Wang variant of the centurion, which most will agree is not too OP, if at all even, over standard mechs. I'll see if I can find the quote unless someone can beat me to it.

I doubt you realy played Wot... Most premium tanks are worse than a completly upgraded regular tank fo the same tier. There was an exception, the Tier 2 Pzkpfw 38H 735(f). But with the implementation of the french techtree you can get an equivalent Tier 2 tank, with the same armor layout, a slightly lower side profile and a better gun.
Some people claim the Type 59 to be imbalanced, but i don't have problems taking it out with any of my Tier 8 tanks, though it's still probably the most powerful premium tank ingame. All others... garbage... sure, there are some premiums that are fun to drive, because of the unique characteristics and they all make more money than the regular counter parts, but they are hardly superior in any way.

If anything, WoT is a good example of premium vehicles, as the increased money/xp gain comes with a disadvantage on the battlefield most of the time.

The only 'balance breaker' are the premium items, like gold ammunitions, repairkits, etc... and i agree that this is something that should be avoided at all costs.

I'd be willing to pay for anything ingame! I mean I have $80 of ingame currency coming my way, but I'm gonna probably save it for later. In WoT some super sale always starts right when I run out of gold. I'll see what's up when MWO lets me in on August 7th. Once my 4 founders mechs no longer suit me I'll probably buy another. Hopefully a Hatamoto-Chi :-)

I dont like the idea of 'premium' mechs, you shouldn't have to pay to win.

That said, id probably buy them -.-

Dude I have a Löwe and KV-5 in WoT. The bonus to those mechs is definitely the XP/Credit gain. If I meet a fully upgraded Tiger-II on the battlefield who knows what he is doing I'm finished. Don't assume that premium mechs will be pay to win. Look at the founders mechs, do you consider those to be pay to win?

The only way that you could consider premium mechs to be pay to win is if clan mechs and clan tech are released as premium items. But then again this is a free to play title and PGI has no obligation to keep freebie players happy since paid players keep the lights on. And boom goes the dynamite.

I would like to see the ability to purchase a perc that allows for permanant fooling around. For example, bye a one time ability that allows you to Paint your mech bay in which ever way the user sees fit. Same with the mechs. Don't just buy one paint job, but the ability to paint all your mechs at any time forever. It could be played off as your buying a detailing shop for your mechs : D Also, buying better and more advanced targeting units, zoom optics, and items of that nature. Not necessarily those parse' but Maybe you guys can roll with where im trying to go with this.

Oh yes and about the pay to win topic....xathanael/Kronos, remember back in the day when you had to purchase expansion packs for mechs? Some people got the uber mechs and some didnt. It was up to the player/buyer if they wanted them, and they provided an advantage. I believe you could pick up those expansions at the time....AKA 10 years ago for $9-$15. Though I would love everything to be free, like that Porsche Ive been eyeing, the guy with the cash gets the Porsche, I get the Hyundai for now : D But yes, If i run into his porsche with my Hyundai both blow up If I hit him Harder!
