What conversation? This is just another LRM fight for people who don't want to admit the truth. LRMs are over-nerfed and PGI has no interest in fixing it, or is unable to fix it because it will alienate the people closest to them or it's their goal to go full FPS and drop the whole 'thinking' from the equation. Nobody's changing their minds, educating someone else or have any influence on PGI. The issues are known and unless PGI is quietly working on them, this is all just "Working As Intended".

Restore LRMs to their December 2014 abilities. Not completely sure what was done around January 2015 to LRMs, but that's when suddenly you would see lone mechs, caught in the open with no AMS, walk through 400-600 LRMs and barely take damage to one arm.

When LRMs are working right you see constant complaints from the players who never use them, think missiles are no-skill exploits, and want them removed from the game. When they fall silent it means you have effectively removed LRMs by making them useless.

They will never be worth a damn unless the ECM bubble is removed.

This. They announced in July that they were thinking of cutting down the ECM bubble to 90 meters. That never happened. I made sure I didn't miss it when I recently played in my ACH. Friendly DW showed as in my bubble at about 180m.

I'd prefer a system of active/passive radar and no bubble (like in MW4:Mercs). But anything would be an improvement for LRM users. Do that before any other change and see how it goes.

People forget that LRM damage doesn't = direct-fire damage in numbers.

Cut at least a third off the "useful damage" number for missiles that hit arms/legs/nonvitals in the process of dealing damage to the spots that actually kill the target. A thousand-damage LRM round is more like a 600ish damage round for a direct-fire 'Mech with decent aim.

An LRM lobber is a long-range shotgun and loses effective damage (more of it with larger launchers) on every hit.

Yes they do, but this is a huge change from when I used to need to run them as my primary weapon because of FPS, screen and health issues.

Even on an assault like the S1 they can be a great backup for a LPL primary weapon. The tactical flexibility would be great if they dealt with the fact that AMS makes it nearly useless for LRMs except to be boated. A simple change of making AMS only target missiles coming at you specifically would be great for making a single LRM 5 or 10 like on the Thunderbolt or Grasshopper viable again or bringing under 20 LRMs a worthwhile endeavor. I have a few mechs that I bring 15 or 20 with, but generally speaking they're useless and use them only after AMS is generally confirmed or I have to use the psychological factor to control and shape the battlefield instead of the weapon that they are.

The only way I would use LRMs was if there was no other way around it, like on an Orion etc. Any other time you would be better off carrying some extra lasers even if that means adding 5-10 heatsinks. That by the way is also proof LRMs are over-nerfed because secondary LRMs are supposed to be the better alternative to just boating more of whatever.
