If your playing alone with 11 others in the way, games are worse.
Playing in solo queue, hit or miss, mostly miss so the game are worse.
Playing in Group queue with many friends and/or Unit, games are hit or miss, mostly hit so the games are better.
Bottom line, want better games play with friends/unit as part of a team in the group queue.

Then Ha MM trolls by putting the good shots on one side, the sheep on the other, games getting so bad its hardly worth logging on for in solo que at times.
PSR is yet another of PGI's improvements, that isn't, I can't wait for the new method of balancing

At tier 3 just always pretend you are in the Tier 1-3 group every match. You either do alright since you're careful or you completely trash the poor tier 4-5 guys thrown your way.

T3 is the worst of all possible worlds. I have been trying to tank my PSR to T4 for over a week. Bar hasn't moved. Playing the worst trial mechs in the worst possible ways and I can't drop. I have no desire to be anything more than a "potato" in this horrible game.
Time to give up.

If MM puts me right in a match, it seems like I get more 11-12 and 12-10's with loads of fun even losing but if it sits and cranks I'm with potatoes and my old T4 pals with our non meta mechs and the other side consists of 12 T1's and 6 have ECM.
just my $0.02 worth. Anyone else notice the same thing?

Note that improved match quality doesn't necessarily mean more even kill scores, well seeded matches can also get lopsided results if one team manages to outplay the other. So called "stomps" are in the nature of the game and happens between evenly skilled teams as well. But in any case hugely improved games and some of the closest nailbiters I've ever had since I began.

Yes, time to give up attempting to tank. I wouldn't worry about the tier level you are in.

The 6 sub 200 players still exist in Tier 1. How unfortunate.

Add to that the 4 min + queues and well, 'nuff said.

It'll be curious to see how the Tiers develop over time. This week, I should have both accounts to Tier 2. I just hope the progression from Tier 2 to Tier 1 doesn't require too much grinding. It'll also be curious to see how the population of each tier changes over time. Filthy casuals like me will be climbing their way up in far greater numbers than the people who are gradually "demoted" to lower tiers.

I've had days of really bad rolls nonstop, win or lose, and then days of extremely close nail-biters all day. Thing is, I keep careful track of time of day, and day of the week I'm playing, and the match quality usually goes along with that more than anything.
Weekends tend to have the most stomps, especially Sundays, since more weekend warriors are on, the guys who don't play all week, are very rusty, may not have optimized mechs, and then we get to enjoy them on our team or as opponents.
Mon-thurs tend to be the most fun, especially in the afternoon-evening US eastern time. Late night tends to get atrocious most days of the week, as everyone seems to be either drunk, euro, or both. (no offense to euro players, I just can't stand playing their playstyle, I'm not a turret, my mech has legs, and I like to move...)

What I will say is that T2 has discouraged me from dropping in my King Crabs since you'll just get left behind. Kind of a shame since I enjoy roleplaying as a turret from time to time.
On the flip side, the constant running away combined with inefficient heat laser builds make brawling (sub 270m range) more fun.
My PSR has been steadily climbing as I ride my Timber brawler to a maxed bar.
Edit: For reference, I hit T2 at 4422 games played (combined Archived and Current)
