That.
Is not a very conversational Thread. And not even worth the effort of writing a thread about.

What were you looking to get out of this?
Were you drunk?

I think he's speaking about the quirks , well bad news (for you) QUIRKS WILL BE WIPE OUT SOON.

P.D: I'm happy about it.

They're probably one of my favorite Heavy 'mechs in the game, AESTHETICALLY.
Especially the 5S, with the massive LRM-drum-of-dooooooooom on the shoulder.

Actually I am happy the quirks have nothing to do with weapons at all more of the nitty gritty of the mechs like structure and all that.

Cool then Clan mechs are getting nerfed into the ground or their weapons will be. Because IS mechs cant compete otherwise... quirks are definitely needed on many IS mechs and some Clan mechs.

I still have a TDR-5S with 2xAC/5, 3xML and a SRM6 that I play from time to time. Good mech.

LOL. Not every post has to be all serious and stuff. I happened to obtain Thunderbolts. What I like about them is their toughness compared to the 'mechs I usually drive. They can flat take a beating when they have standard engines and can still pack a usable payload.

IMHO it looks like a utility mech for loading stuff or getting obstacles out of the way.
If not for the OP quirks, it would be a rather rare view, I'm sure.

If you are talking about the last PTS then you have a missunderstanding. Weapons quirks won't be wiped out, they will just be rebalanced via the Paulgorithm. PGI removed all weapon quirks from that PTS run because we were supposed to only test the infowar quirks - too bad they forgot to mention that to the users.

I really don't get it why people don't like the quirk system. Maybe they don't understand the purpose of it? The goal of quirks is not to balance weapons in overall, but balance out mech variants and IS vs Clan.
And everyone telling me that we don't need weapon quirks to achieve balance neither played those really "bad" mechs or wants them to be easy prey by intend.
Balancing just the weapons itself and not the mechs won't bring any balance. The strong mechs being able to use a weapon that is buffed in general will become even more powerful.

Yep, it was a rare sight before the quirks.

Oh and yea, the mech is cool too!

I don't use them much, but they are a deadly machine (high hardpoints), and the quirks can make them real nasty. I should take mine out more often.

The one I like best of the three I got (Top Dog, 9SE(C) and 5SS) so far is actually the Top Dog. It has armor and structure buffs that make it as tough as some assault 'mechs. It's nice to be able to take a few hits and not be Instacored all the time like I am with my Catapults. I can play them like Victors but for the jets, and the 9SEC has jets to boot.

I can see why new players are often directed to Thuds, and now it makes sense as to why they're rated highly on Metamechs. I ran the trial Thud for 8500 MXP before I bought it, just like with my Victors, and I like it just as well.
