This would be wonderful for those of us who cant load the over-the-top graphics but still love mechwarrior. Of course this isn't urgent but it's still nice and expands the audience.

It's just not possible considering the intensive demand of cryengine. This game is extremely demanding.

Search YouTube for MWO videos from 2012. The game's graphics were awesome back then. But since, they have turned them down to accommodate those people who have computers better suited for internet browser games than actual gaming. If you cannot run the game with the details all turned to low right now, then you need new hardware. It's not going to get any better for you.

This game has always been SEVERELY unoptimized in terms of graphics. I get so much better performance with every other game but this one. I know some people piss and moan about the game graphics being turned down for lower spec machines but in a FTP game like this one, you need your audience as large as possible. Thanks to this when my laptop went down and I still can't afford to fix it (spent $1800 on a water heater this weekend), I was able to put a low cost card into my desktop and still play with a usable frame rate.

I don't know. Machines I was playing on in 2012 while on the road won't even attempt to run the game today. I think they've dumbed down some of it, but I don't to the point of accepting lower end graphics setups.
