I think it would be great if we could use voice comms for lance only. There are many cases in which my lance (usually light) want to work together and go behind enemy lines but we don't want to talk over the commander or confuse the other lances.
Just a thought.
Also, it would be cool if there was a speaker icon or something next to each lance that would allow the commander to communicate directly to them.

It would be nice if the voice chat worked at all. I think your idea has some merit but I would suggest that lance and company chat would have separated channels between which you could switch when ever you want too. There even could be an indicator on the hud showing which one is currently used.

Voice chat does work. At least for me. I'm still in the lower tiers so I don't run into too many users but in group games I see heavy usage of voice.

Yeah, well the chat hasn't been working for me despite fact that my mike has been connected properly and works with other voice chat software. It would be nice to know where the problem is.
