Oh, I'm also here to voice support for switchable textures! (sometimes I'd prefer some mild grunge; tho yes, it's overwhelming in the jenner's case) Of course, I also recognize it'd have to fit to MC prices... so I'm unsure how that works out. (??)

Great Dev log. Really enjoyed having the texture system explained in detail. The only thing I would ask is for the Anniversary (2nd) skin to have the color removed from it. Everything has a tendency to end up with a brownish hue. Removing the brown hue, would help to allow us to utilize one color schemes like all black.

Glad that my blocks of stats were considered helpful :)


While I completely understand pixle density, to physical model space. I still feel that it is a problem on some of the larger mechs. We have mechs which are large enough to benefit from the higher resolution textures greatly.


It is true that smaller mechs like the Locust, (and almost every small mech) would not benefit, but every Assault and most heavies would.

Is there any possibility of allowing players the option of disabling the bullet-damage texture that goes on mechs when they take damage? It kind of sucks to lose your pretty paintjob from one LRM volley.

Yes it is the Jenner IIC! (look the chicken legs)

It is interesting to know how much ahead the schedule they work (the Jenner IIC will be released only in 15th December).

Thank you for the nice info and sneak peaks.

One more question:
  • Jonty mentioned that in order for the special (I) variants in clan wave 1&2 to get camo support, there are special geo parts on them that needs to bee painted as well (mostly the leg part) as demonstrated in the following mock-up.

  • Now, as you may know, wave three mechs had all those special geos in plain black, even if they had a (RGB) texture for the invasion camo on them. (example below). So, are these gonna be paintable as well aslong with wave1&2 in the future?

Interesting to see behind scenes and people involved. Personal Experience from my Employers newsletter, it would be more engaging to start off the DEVLOGs with a softball questionnaire for the interviewees. Such things as favorite mech / faction / food / band / sports team / color ect. ect. Just to break the ice, loosen the mood & get people interacting on a more natural level.

I'm not really surprised we won't be getting selectable textures. I still think it would be a good idea and a potential source of income.

I am disappointed to hear they are going to eventually redo the textures of the older IS mechs, which look like centuries-old war machines, and instead make them look like the newer models which resemble shiny plastic toys.

Glad they finally put to rest the posts about pedantic crap on mech texture rez. I think its hilarious they actually had to devote time out of their day to tell people to stop whining about it. There are such bigger issues with this game is absolutly dumb to be spending time on an issue like that.

Great devlog again.

Kind of sad that paint finish isnt really feasible because of how they are done now. Glad that it has been addressed rather than ignored.

Glazed over after 5 mins, bored me to death. All i heard was blah blah blah, excuses, excuses. If only i could make excuses at my job as to why i have a backlog and how everyone else in the factory is backlogged cause i'm behind since i'm the guy who makes all the components for everyone else.

So whats the eta of putting camo on my Invasion mechs?

It would be nice to have some IS omnimechs. Although considering the Loyalty Wolverine came with MASC, there probably coming.

yeah, but the Thanny is 3061. we've got a few that show up about 3054 though, like the Raptor and Avatar, and the Sunder and Rakshasa not too long after.
