Am I the only one who thinks that mech 3d model quality dropped a lot?

The Wolfhound may grow on me, IDK.

My initial reaction was to point out how far off it was from the concept art, but on closer inspection, it isn't really that far off. It's actually pretty close.

This makes me think that I have to wait for in-game shots when the Wolfhound, and not judge to harshly when it doesn't have a proper skin applied yet.

I think the mw4 one looks better:

MWO hound: those shoulders are ridicolously large.

Well, now that I have finally seen the Wolfhound... Yuk. :(

It's not terrible I suppose, just underwhelming. I'd like to see it in game with proper textures added before making a final decision on looks (it made a big difference for the Black Knight), but overall...ehhh.

wolfhound looked oddly stiff and stubby in Alex's art, too. TBH, I have never see a version of the wolfhound that lived up to the lore description, not even close.

I don't like MW4's take on any mech design. their designs always looked show cheap and half thought out. I think the last game that gave a crap about mech design was MW3.

MW4's Wolfhound does look ok if not a bit cheap looking too. I do kind of like that head design
though (drawing and not MW4 ingame representation). I thought it would look too cartoony before, but honestly the MWO head looks a bit too bland.

As for MW4's designs, I think the Catapult is the main reason I hated that game's aesthetics...

I mean like...what the hell?!?

The bow-legged Madcat MKII was good too...

Nope Bish, bunny ears go down, wolf ones aim at the sky!

Anyway.... another mech I wish to re-design:

Well, there's the first countdown post, including a shot of the 3D model.

It looks like it's wearing a corset.

Wolfhound has always been skinny. I actually wish the chest area was skinnier. Other than that, it looks perfect.

It comes with maximum armor, double heat sinks (WLF-2), and an STD engine for maximum zombie-ness. Of course, it is slow (only 97.2 kph stock) and doesn't have any jump jets.

I'm loving the badge too. I'll be changing to that at the first opportunity.

I honestly didn't know what it's "supposed" to look like, lorewise. But looking at Sarna, I guess that kind of blocky and utilitarian look is fitting, as it was thrown together from off-the-shelf components.

I'm actually planning to try running the WLF-2® virtually stock, just throw in Endo and Ferro, and use the freed tonnage for 3 DHS or 2 DHS + AMS. Interested to see how it'll do in a "light medium" role.

Dat WLF shield arm... oooh boy am I gonna have some fun with this thing. I liked the rounded off head in the concept art better, but oh well. Gimme a giant engine, a generous helping of wubs, lemme run around like a maniac...

looks like the CT may be skinny as hell, too. Might actually be worth running STD builds on one or two of them... WLF-2 as a 137.5kph zombie?

Chest area had to be big to make room for four (4) wonderful dynamic hard point lasers....

Here is another mech that doesnt work with the cookie cutter weapons we have...*sigh*

Check it out, i think it looks much better in the instagram-turnaround than in the still image.

I'm glad some like it.

Now that I have seen the Wolfhound in the proper in game skin, I think it might look worse than the preproduction photo.

It reeks of a rush job to me. Whatever, I'm just glad I don't have to look at it too much other than the Mechlab. Hopefully it will be somewhat fun to play. It sure is nauseating to look at.
