I would not mind alternatives, but I like the Urbie/Marauder/Warhammer type Mechpack model.
The 3-4 a year jumbo packs...those I can do without.

I'm with Bishop on this
The mega pack is dead as far as I'm concerned
But packs of single IS mechs I'll still buy, at least until the Unseen are exhausted, because I'm not being penalised for buying them and having to wait until the last mech to get my bonus items even though the camo is available from the very first mech for MC.
As to alternatives
I like Elizanders idea, but because of my experience with playing hunt the mech module, I wonder how much revenue it would produce.
If they were brought in at a nominal amount, like say 30-50mc I would probably buy a lot over time so I had enough to find them easily, or even all for the mechs I use a lot, I however think PGI would not be able to resist sticking them in game for 300-500 a shot, which means I doubt I'd bother.
Decals I still think there should be decals as CW rewards, for playing lots and I do mean lots of games of getting lots of wins/kills etc in CW, yes very much like war thunder Rank badges, kill marks, company, lance, symbols. house, clan shields etc.
The really cool ones like canon badges, Black Widow Company, Cranston Snords Irregulars, Eridani Light Horse (lots there for the many units) Smithsons Chinese Bandits, placed behind a pay wall. again very much like War Thunder.
People not interested in the lore will still buy because they look cool, people like me will throw money at them so they can look like their favourite unit from the game.
Don't say no, because you damn well know you will.
As to the PvE and this is where I am going to get the hate, a story line expansion along the lines of Mech Warrior 3 which is an optional expansion that we have to *cough* buy.
