Half Of Team Dying Without Saying Anything

Question is: why? Why not message? Why not use voice comms? Why not even a single fart to let team know you are in trouble?

By the time you realise you're in trouble, it's usually too late anyways. Most people don't just drop everything they're doing and type in chat "HELP ASSAULTS F4" ... they try to put up a fight in the 10 seconds before inevitably going down.

Low tier players tend to be mike/chat shy. What is your tier rating?

B/c they'd rather drag down the other 11 guys on their team than step out of their comfort zone

Should be able to at least get under cover and write something like Help D4, etc.
It's not that hard.
In games like Quake, one used to be able to bind a simple message with a script that shows your current position. I wish that was available in this game.

But that message is more important to the team as a whole, unless you are really firepower heavy like an assault or something.
Besides, can't you write something after you die?

If I can get into to cover, I'm not in trouble. Then again, I don't wander off alone in slow mechs, so maybe it would be more useful then.

Exactly.
I had been asking for a commo rose since forever... since typing is risky when you're engaging or about to engage. If a commo rose existed, coordination would improve immensely (especially when you'd have to commit to VOIP to communicate with unknown strangers).
Of course... I repeat this indefinitely, but... it's clearly not important enough.
The thing is it is infact community friendly (if programmed correctly), as you should be able to put in language friendly equivalent messages for the basic commands you want to execute (it's not like we're planning something complicated here).
But... it's Lostech.

You stopped playing for an entire year until a couple of weeks ago and is T2? How? PGI should have ranked you from the games you played since January 1st to September 22nd. By all means you should have started on T4-5.

youre supposed to pay attention to if your team is dying or not
not expect them to hold your hand and tell you everything you can figure out on your own

I sure can confirm. On my alt T4 account, almost no one cares to use mike/chat for anything useful. On my T1 main, the mike/chat is always busy during engagement. People call out UAVs, enemy flank attacks, sniper positions, weakened enemies, the whole 9 yards. Naturally it includes call for help.

Also, I usually play at 6 am before work so my whole house is asleep, so VOIP is not an option for me.

You start in T3, at least I did. In T3 I either win or do enough damage not to go negative in PSR most games.
When I stopped playing last year, I was consistently in the highest "tier" of elo rankings.

Part of team work involves making situational awareness easier for your teammates. Even when we didn't have voice comms I'd consistently try to message and report. Definitely helped win games.

That is some ******* science folks, and explains why I am able to gun down T1 solo while only a tier 3 pilot.

Tiers aside, players that frequent group que are more likely to use comms/chat than ones the PUG only. At least in my, and apparently Bandito's, experience. Also, why the personal attack? That's pretty immature.
