Catalyst wants absolutely nothing to do with other company's IP so that'll never happen. PGI might be able to acquire a license to make models like ironwind has and use a 3D printer to print them out but that's probably a long shot.

This would be very doable- and quite cool.
I would recommend, instead of injection molded plastic- still tough to get into due to the cost of the hard metal molds, go with spin cast resin.
They could do a deal with Reaper Miniatures or some other cost effective miniature manufacturer. Then sell the units in the Gift Store.

I knock my 3D printer a bit, I can make usable plastic stuff with it and have printed things in pieces and assembled, Acetone is the best glue for ABS by the way. But its not rapid and its far from over when the part leaves the print plate.
Next gen desktop sintering machine is whats up.
In the world of plastic, 10 sec squirt and 1.5 min cool down is rapid production.
You can make injection molds out of carbon fiber and high temp resin. You could use rep rap hot ends to inject the plastic. Its a bit time consuming and every new part needs a new mold. But its also basic level on each skill set to put it all together.
Any of you guys are interested in making your own, (if you don't sell them it doesn't violate anyone's IP to make your own) let me know and I could write up a primer.
Someone already printed a mech but there are all kinds of ways to do it. I'd rather have cast aluminum plates over a skeletal frame.

It's a great opportunity for some cross promotion of the brand but it all depends on the relevant license holders and the logistics and costs involved I guess.

King Crab? Crab? Urban Mech? Timber Wolf? Marauder? Warhammer? Mad Dog? Summoner? Hellbringer? Battlemaster? Locust? Commando? Artic Cheetah? Black Knight? Any of the mechs in MWO because I can keep going on this forever and I doubt people want to see that long of a list?

you can paint a working light bar and grill guard onto an Urbie in game? Change the hardpoints to have missiles, and such? Really? Wow... show me the way!
Also pretty sure...in fact dead certain having done it many times... that modifying and painting a model set, figurine or miniature, is a lot more work than slapping paint on in a videogame mechlab. Just as an observation.

So get a paper cutout of deputy dawg. Play in third person mode and hold the cutout over the screen. Presto, you have your deputy dawg!

Um magic paint brush Bishop? I can't really show you how to do the physically impossible with a paint brush. I know you are being sarcastic but ever thought of making it yourself if you have enough passion for it? Like the Back to the Future dalorean replica even though you cant replicate these mechs you can make them in a smaller scale make them light up and stuff.
