I hope "owned" filter can at some point simply remove all non-owned colours from grid. Darkening, greying out or any other color modification will just make non-owned colours appear like some other legit color. Otherwise, I'm loving the new color selection.

With the new weight limits in team public drops, I see many more mediums and tons of heavies. Virtually no assaults.

This leads to unsatisfactory gameplay for assault drivers.

With 3/3/3/3, assault mechs had their place. They are now slow moving targets for all the faster mechs.

When only one or two assaults appear per match, they become the obvious first target. While this could create a tactical challenge for teams, most players, unless their team brought assaults, are not going to pay attention to them and outrun them. So, assault mechs are left behind to die.

More ECM. As so few assaults (just the DDC) have ECM, and there are now so few assault mechs, people have been forced to drop lighter. This means that they'll take what is most effective. With no limit on heavies, Hellbringers have become more populous. Is this a good thing?

Assault mechs and light mechs don't necessarily compliment each other on a team, so min/maxing tonnage numbers to get asssult and light team drop decks would be foolish.

I am finding this faster paced game interesting and challenging, but more as a novelty. I wouldn't want this every night. Variety is the spice of life, they say. Homogeny is for the birds.

Not bad PGI, but for the things you did that improved the game it is all lost do to the insane idea of removing 3/3/3/3.

Yeah, not digging the new pallet for just that reason. This is gears to those who already own most of the colors. For me, it's a map of stuff PGI wants me to pay money for.

First of all I really like the new Camo Spec Screen. I’m quite sure that it will take hours to adjust the camo of all of my favorite mechs.
:P

In-Game player context menu:
Well, let’s see what happens.
I’m not sure if this will become an advantage in team-play. Most of the reports will be subjectively and it’s up to you (PGI) to classify.
My best wishes for that
;)

New group Queue Tonnage Values:
I fully understood that match making balancing is a challenge but from my point of view the new Tonnage values system is step backwards.
The old 3/3/3/3-system was too static. We had to choose 3 lights, 3 medium etc.
Fully agree!

But now we are chased to squeeze a 12-drop into 640t.

I really like to see some 100t Atlas, King Crabs slowly moving across the battlefield, flanked by Heavy/Mediums. Some Lights scouting, running around searching for lonely and carelessly targets.
But I don’t want to see 12-Stormcrow drops because of only fulfilling the tonnage Values.
This has nothing to do with Mech Warrior or Battletech. This is just another First-person-online-shooter where you try to find out the best possibility to accomplishing the queue requirements.

Please try to adjust the group queue tonnage Values.
Maybe by using a mix of both systems.
3/3/3/3 including tonnage values for each class?

Will never be added because there was a debate on this here and people like you ignored legit reasons for 'hiding.'
'Hiding' is not always cowardice, that is just an assumption by people with limited grasp of tactics and details.

I do hide. There are situations, especially in conquest, but in assault and skirmish too, where you can win or tie the game by hiding.

But consider this example: you are winning in skirmish 11-2. Then the last player hides to protect his k/d ratio and goes alt tabbed / afk.

Playing seek is not fun. Nor is the fact that the mechs of 23 other players are tied to the match.

This, I think, should be reportable.

Well - I haven't posted on this board for a long time.

But the last patches "tonnage-socialism-madness" has upset me enough to voice my protest!

1.
The 3-3-3-3 system played a key part in making every mech class viable and necessary to master!
With the new tonnage only system

a.) The assault class died in the first hours after the patch - at least in the group queue.
(All the assault drivers - including me - that I know swapped their mechs for lighter - "meta-only" mechs after the first few rounds of getting zerged by "Crow - and more interestingly - Griffin rushes")

b.) Hours later my unit had a "meta tonnage calculator spreadsheet" for any given number of players in the group ... and it usually boils down to very few mech types being viable and competitive. (I find this very sad.)

c.) The whining guys "needing protection" from the "evil 12man premades" (which now have an insane tonnage penalty compard to smaller groups) found out the hard way, that allowing a 10-12 man to run around in meta mechs of the same class is even worse than having tem spreadon 4 different classes (and hence different Speed and loadouts).

2.
The only solution I can think of is:

a.) rollback to the 3-3-3-3 system thatworked fairly well pre-patch.Don't fix what isn't broken!

b.) A combination of the 3-3-3-3 system with a tonnage penalty for 10 and 12 man teams .
(such as a Tonnage below 300 t for the three assaults and a tonnage below 225 t for the three heavies.)

I do favour a.)

Best regards
Thelamon

PS
Did I say that I was upset about this extreme and ill-prepared and ill-researched crippling blow to the public match?

Well - I am very upset! And so are the players of my unit. :(

I couldn't agree more. The only way to make PGI listen is to stop playing the game. I will only return if they rollback to the old system. But I suspect they will stick with tonnage limits to show they weren't wrong. Oh well, Fallout 4 will be out soon.

Totally agree!
A 12-Stormcrow-premade-troll-group (for example) who will destroying PUG-groups in seconds are not well-ballanced!

Regarding the new color UI, I agree with what I allready read here.

Please, PGI, when applying filters, just fade out non-viable colors completely, so that their hex cells are just not there anymore, shades of grey-out leave me confused, if the color is not viable or if it is just a more greyish tone.

This. But i also propose just to leave only colors you filtered.
Owned -- means nothig but owned
Sale -- means nothig but sale

All those colorful palette is good for new colors choosing, but when you try to find those you owned or those that on sale -- you got eyes bleeding trying to find them among all that un-active slots =(

There are a lot of good games coming out this fall/winter that are very likely to draw a lot of players away from MW:O. Fallout 4, Star Wars Battlefront, Starcraft: Legacy of the Void, Dark Souls III, even Knights of the Old Republic: Knights of the Fallen Empire and others could likely draw players away from MW:O over the course of the next few months.

- I consider the report ability horrid (Death to silly banter! Hang them for it! Rite....)
- I consider the tonnage limit horrid (As an assault lover and collector, this cripples me.)
- I consider the resulting metamech armageddon amongst competitive players silly and a killing blow to poor pugs.
- I consider the new camo screen to have potential, but not being able to tell owned colours from non-owned is horrid.

Summary:
I'll most likely take a break from MW:O or rarely play.

Vermintide has been released. Rebel Galaxy has been released.
Fallout 4 is at the gates. That will keep me entertained just fine.

I sat it out the last time MW:O went to *****, until it managed to climb out of it's hole.
I'll do it again.

Yep, there are times it is perfectly good to hide. I.E, I was in CW on Emerald Taiga. I was in the fight with my team and they all got wiped out. My mech was still in good shape, so I shut down and waited for the next wave.... Was nail-biting, as an enemy mech stopped, looked me in the face, then turned and walked on XD Next wave comes in, I hit from behind, and we murdered them.

I've been legged, and only had 20% armor left, and shut down waiting for an enemy mech to walk past me, only to power up and kill him from behind. Immediately slaughtered by his friends, but that was a chance I wouldn't have had if I hadn't hid.

Powering down when you're the only one left, without any intention of fighting, and not able to win by cap points, is reprehensible.

Oh dear, I do apologise for speaking my mind.
Wait, I don't. I don't pay heed to gits.

I've been here for a while, I'm certain it'll get better again, but group drops just became silly puremeta shite. I don't want to bother with that much. This also means I generate no income for them for quite some time.

It's my only real way of showing that I don't like where they are heading.
