As in its a "feature" added into the game its always going to be there its going to be hard to forget a "Feature".

I didn't mean it will literally vanish out of everyone's minds.

I mean't that after people see there is no great purge of users for their "non constructive chat", the hand wringing will stop.

It covers chat spam generally, and any annoying phrase that goons decide to use for trolling purposes.

Ok, I would just like to know.. what exactly is considered nonparticipation?

I understand that if somebody consecutively shows up for a match and then goes AFK.. like, more than once.. or simply disconnects at the start of a match, and never reconnects... but both these cases are quite arbitrary..

Its for instance, bad if you disconnect if you don't like the map, so you leave your team behind. But what if your internet connection goes down? How would they know?

Also, what If I just dropped, and my girlfriend that's next to me suddenly catches on fire, or my dog knocks over my Flatscreen or i simply have to answer the door? I have to go AFK.. do I get reported for this?

I'm sure if you typed "brb gfriend on fire lol!" before you went AFK no one would report you.

Probably first person in a game to reporthas the server save the chat log, with priority based on number of reports, and to who. 23 reports on one person would essentially be about the highest priority, which then gets checked by a GM/mod for TOS violations our similar issues that would be punishable I'm some way.

I had a game today where some guy was spamming justin beiber lyrics in chat. It was goofy.

The idea of him being reported for it though is absolutely insanely stupid.

If you can't put up with people being silly and goofy and off-topic and non-constructive, go play a single player game. I'm not playing MW:O because I want to hear VOIP of people talking like they're calling in airstrikes for their nations military or training for a career as a military radio operator.

Jesus ******* christ people. Learn to just play a game. This is that, nothing more. Pretendy fun time games. We're in big stompy robots shooting lazors and dakka and lurms.

Can we get an official word on what constitutes the reportable 'non-constructive' chatter?

Thought this needed its own thread because it was kind of taking over the patch note thread of someone who made a nice thread.

There is a guy who says "I like ponies" in EVERY match. Then he takes command and clutters the minimap with that useless defend order icon.
I won't say the name of the boy, of course .

It's funny the first time and bearable the 10th time, but at some point, it starts violating the "harassing" paragraph of the CoC.

When he's asked to stop and being reasoned with, he calls himself a troll and says he cannot stop as long as someone feeds him (meaning he will never stop, no matter what one does).

I reported him for that, asking PGI to take "pedagogical" measures (as weird as it sounds) or remove him from the game if nothing else works.
Didn't see him for a few weeks after that. Last week, he turned up again, asking if I were still mad.

I wonder if they added that "non constructive chat" point for cases like him.

well this post may go bye bye, but they did have an incident awhile back where someone started every match with "I am gay" in an attempt to get people to reply negatively (and he did some other trolly stuff too I think), when he finally took a time out for it and everything else that he did, he claimed he didn't violate the rules by saying that and he was banned for being gay and tried to stir up a stink over it. because, as we all know, canadian game developers are soooo conservative and anti gay.

so my guess is that, and situations like you described, are a big reason for it.

It either means "anything that's not obviously offensive and not obviously spamming, but still really annoys the heck out of fellow players and isn't conducive towards a good game-play environment" or is the start of the New World Order (guess where my money is).

Mostly it'll work out as a catchall for stuff that people want to report, for whatever reason, and will get upset if they don't have a box to report it via. It'll then go to whoever is manning the queue that day in a report, most likely to be looked at after the other categories, and they will check their actual guidelines (that you won't get to see, because as soon as they come out people will start edging them like crazy just to be street-tough) and make a call on it based on the "what's good for the game, doesn't mute or ban that many people, and follows the overall standards of the playerbase PGI wants to see". You're looking at less than a minute to make a decision, once the person gets used to it, because you'll mostly be checking for buzzwords or key phrases.

If you are worried that your conversation or comments will cause offense then don't say them, simple as that.
Unless PGI have started smoking crack then pre-drop banter and sillyness won't get actioned, but in game overt negativity and abusive (which is different to offensive) comments might. However the bulk of it won't as if it can't fit into the other two boxes then it's not that big a problem, and the option most means the important reports don't get clogged up.

I think stuff like players belittling other players or teammates is what constitutes unconstructive chat.

I've seen many players in game who start typing mean-spirited stuff in chat about their own team losing for various reasons, a common one being that no one took their command advice, or that their teammates ran "lousy" builds. If I see it enough from the same person, I'd report it Malicious name-calling would count too, I think.

What will happen is the same thing the forums have been plagued with since the beginning. The team tryhards here on the forums come together to report any opinion they don't like. I have been reported for the mildest things which usually end in a mod e-mail cautioning me for being non constructive. I generally respond asking how others say or do far worse and get a pass. They never respond and of course why would they because they know the drill and like being tools.
They either do that or start pushing the mods to move the thread to k-town. The volunteer mods are the worst of the bunch because they always side with team/faction mates. Had one ban me for 14 days just a while ago and got an e-mail showing me he/she was a teammate of the guy I was going round with. Of course why not expect any different.

So now stand by for the teams to mass report anyone they don't like for the mildest of things.

PGI has turned this game into a PC sewer now. Glad I pre ordered FO4 and very glad I didn't invest in BT kickstarter which I almost did. The reason? They associate with PGI. The measure of a man is the company he keeps. That's enough to keep my money in my wallet.

Just to note, only can use 5 per day (if you're collecting statistics, this makes no sense).

If Support may contact you for additional information (they are reviewing these reports; thus why it is limited to 5 per day); what proof, if they even decide to act on the report, will that reporter provide?

This is a smoke screen; relax.

(fair to say it is just a more convenient tool than sending an email); but every report will be weighed and contact assured.

All this is clearly covered in plain English in the CoC with simple to understand definitions.

i wish they would.. even better, remove cross team chat (once the match starts) altogether

Just turn off AllChat, but yea, global would be great.

I think it's going to cover those guys who die with 15 damage in the first 30 seconds and then spam chat with how bad the team is, how everyone else sucks, how they are better than everyone else, etc. for the rest of the match non-stop. God I hope it does anyway.
