What mech would you pilot in real life if you could?

If I could pick anything I would probably captain an Overlord dropship.

I've said it once, and I'll say it again: VND-1R Vindicator.
Many 'mechs are superior to the vindy in many situations. But what if you don't know what you'll be facing? The Vindicator is supremely adaptable.
Here's a small example. I'm on a heavily forested world trying to fight my way out of an ambush. Suddenly, my best friend needs my help because he had to eject. What if I'm in a Timber Wolf? I'll have to get out to get him (or at least stop). In a vindy, though, I can pick him up in my left hand and jump over trees!
I contend that the Vindicator is the best jack-of-all-trades 'mech every built (because that's what it was built to do!). Therefore, I am confident that it would be better equipped to help keep me and my friends alive in the widest variety of hostile situations.
(Plus it's cheap, prolific, and I could find parts easily as a Cappie Mechwarrior!)

Or...the Cudgel...because of the tears it would give the light mech drivers that think they're safe closing in and circling an assault. TSM + Mace + Claw = broken toy light mech that can't run away fast enough...since the TSM makes the Cudgel move as fast as a Wasp light mech (97km/h) when it's active. I kinda wish they'd implement close combat and beating of mechs with their shot off limbs now...though I can hear the light mech awesomers complaining already.
The picture caption should be: "Bowling for Light Mechs"

Although, to be honest, anyone from the Robotech franchise looks REALLY good, and since I actually saw them move and fight in the anime, they're far more appealling than those square ugly boxes that are most of the original drawings from BT.

The stalker was my Mech Warrior Merchs Fav. A pair of LRM15 or 20s a pair of SRM6s and 2 Large Lasers and I believe 2 to 4 mediums. It was an 85 tonn assualt mech with heavy armor a catapult on steroids. I would sometimes change out the LRMs for a pair of long bolts and the large lasers for pulse taking the mediums out and adding more armor and heatsinks.
The only issue I ever had was the cockpit was too exposed had to protect it by turning away from the fire alot. For its weight it presents a small target as well.

A LAM then of course. Need to jet to the Bahamas for a swim? No problem! Wanna check in on the ISS? No problem. Quick commute to work even if you live quite a ways out from your office. Not an issue! Armed and dangerous and yet dead sexy as well? Why plod around in a slow Atlas when you can be wherever you want to be FAST?
