Probably wrong place to post but my mobile service is bit sucky atm. Feel free to move this post to the proper forum space anyone.

So as the title says it. I dont know if this has been discussed or not. But a numerical dmg indicator would be a good way for ppl to know how much dmg they are doing per shot/alpha/salvo. Could be place slightly beside the torso crosshairs in a neat small but readable numerical text. I believe this would be a great idea and a great tool to have for new players and also an appreciated tool for the experienced player.
It could benefit the newer player who sometimes blasts their small lasers in hope of doing dmg to someone 600m away. It could be a useful tool for ppl who boat lasers and feel their hit reg is off. This could help them rectify unforseen errors in their game etc.
There would have to be 2 types of numerical text on either side of the torso crosshairs. 1 for ballistic/instant dmg type weapons. And 1 for lasers as they have a burn time.
Would this be a simple mechanic to implement? Thoughts on this fellow mechwarriors...

It would be a great addition to the game but unfourtunatelly PGI is running the other way. We'd be lucky to keep the current hit reg marker, PGI removed it entirely for non tsrgetted mechs in the latest Public test version.

That might even mess up a lot of people when their client says hit but HSR comes back with "missed by a mile".

Not opposed to though, would be distracting to me and feel very, very arcade - so as long as I can turn it off.

This is a Mech combat simulator, not a standard shooter... That would'nt fit with the spirit.

But: In testing grounds, sure. Its the place to learn to manage your range and your efficency, and that would be a useful tool.

I'd be against it, it would feel too "arcady". Would take away from any sense of immersion to see little damage numbers pop up, I'd feel like I was playing mario...

Oh yea an option to turn it off is a must for those that dont want it on. Understandable being mech simulator and not your standard arcade shooter etc but i just think it be a neat feature to have just to give ppl an idea of what their dmg is at different ranges. Its all there on the weapons loadout of what the dmg rang abilities are but to somewhat a precise indicator would be cool.

Would probably work a lot better in training/tutorial where HSR isn't present - not the worst idea to test it out there first if nothing else.

IMO all damage indicators should be removed. They are simply used as a crutch for players not knowing how to aim. The only time an indication of damage should apply is from guided weapons.
