They could claim to be removing ghost heat. Wait until the rapture peaks then rip the rug from under us by adding ghost convergance.

The ultimate April Fool's mech would have to be the Ostscout! I mean a 35 ton light mech with a single CT energy hardpoint! This would make the Spider look like a Firestarter in comparison :P !

Actually, come to think of it... War Thunder brought in mechs for April Fools. PGI should should bring in tanks.

Hmm, how about announcing the Scorpion will be available... as a figurine for the cockpit!

Well, in part, it'd still be a good thing (if it gets the Alex make-over, that is), it would increase the chance of it appearing in BATTLETECH, so i'm all up for it!

As for Mechs I would go with the Mackie.

But what about different playing modes instead of a Mech?
Haveing played League of Legends there is the URF (Ultra rapid fire) mode for April that basicly puts everything into a hyperactive mode. Next to no cooldown, no castingcost....

For MWO you could go similar, no cooldowns, extremly low heat, no ammo needs, no jamming and all of that in a 32 vs 32 brawl king of the hill map with no respawn limit and just a timer ticking down. Winner is the one with the most kills or most time spend on the hill.
Just pure madness.

Or speaking of madness. Strip all mechs of weapons, increase ramming/pushin strength and make a map with a big hole in the middle. The one pushing the most mechs into it wins. Spartan style ^_^

Land air mechs.. Drop your Payload before dropping the enemy mechs.

Available in Shadowhawk (only 2 modes)
Pheonix hawk (widge rules)
Stinger
and
Wasp.

The Word of Blake models are still a few years out.

Looks like the Mackie and Piranaha are the favourites so far.

No point in getting a Hatchetman until they figure out physical combat.

I think you underestimate how fast Varnas's head would explode in anger that they did a Tripod mech instead of a quad.

Sorry bud, I was just hoping to keep it to mechs that were actually possible to get from PGI.

Last years Urbanmech was wildly successful largely in part because it was something the community wanted, even knowing that it likely wasn't going to be the best mech (don't hurt me Bishop).

So, we have roughly 5 months to convince them to add another April Fools Addition Mech.

Has to meet the following criteria:

- Fits in the timeline
- Is something of an urthodox Mech
- Is not a quad mech (Sorry Varnas)

As we get suggestions I'm willing to add a poll.

My initial thought was the Mackie.

Well thats easy. The answer is so obvious anyone should have been able to guess this. drumroll please...

With the iic pack coming out, lets get pgi to give us the urbanmech iic hahahahahahahaha!

I'm thinking one of the LAM 'mechs, BUT, it's stuck in that half-n-half state:

And class bazillion JJ's that let it jump high and far, but with limited weaponry (a few laser/missile HPs, 2 and 2, at best)...

THAT, would f'ing hilarious...

Don't.
We need more Vulcan-fans.

We also need more quad-fans, but you can't have everything, i guess.
