I read somewhere that one our days is one in-game day. Starting at year 3049 give us and the DEV 1 year to prep and build BT. I think we should start at 3047 or 48. Gives the player a nice feel and the DEV time to make and prep for the Clans. Tho those are year no one knows it still war out there.

What do you all think

They have set 3049 for their reasoning... I do not see them changing it. Besides after launch they have 8 months. You do not think that is not enough time for a paid, 40h a week staff of something like 30 or 40 to do? For all we are aware they are coding and setting it all up to deal with the clans from launch, maybe they already have a decently set plan on how to deal with the clans?

I for one only want to play a inner sphere merc as long as I have too... i very much prefer to play as a Clansmen, so waiting another 3 years to play as a Clansmen... No thanks. Look at the stats a lot of people want to play as the Clan, to set back the Clansmen players three years could hurt the game more than anything as a number may not even play until the Clans initiate operation Revival. I love my star league mechs, which will be what I play in ^_^

I'm really enjoying it already. One to one days is the first step in creating immersion.

The Clans aren't going to really show up until 3050, though.

So theoretically you should have a year or so of pure IS play, with some scattered UFO-like reports of an unknown designation mech or ship glimpsed here and there, or a remote outpost going silent - easily attributed to Periphery designs or pirates. '49 seems fine to me.

Kenny Ryan's pirate forces were attacked 13 August 3049, and the full-on Clan Invasion came not long after that. The first actual Wave of Operation Revival was in March of 3050, so you only really have eight months before you'll start to see the Clans in force. Eight months, in my estimation, should be a perfect amount of time for Inner Sphere pilots to get used to IS 'Mechs, tactics, etc., and then they won't be enormously disappointed when they meet the Clans and start getting their butts handed to them, because they understand Clan equipment is superior, if not their tactics and honor.
