If the website says that the year 2014 is 3051, and a 1:1 ratio is enacted, then, we must be in 3052.

However, if the Origins IIC is coming out this December with weapons like:

> ER Medium Laser, which was made available to the IS in 3058, AND;
> UAC/20, which was made available to the IS in 3060,

What year are we actually in???

The Origins IIC 'Mechs are Clan BattleMechs, not Inner Sphere.

Ahhhhhhh, interesting. I didn't know that. The whole Jenner-Hunchback thing confused me.

Currently it is still 3050 (PGI had rewinded the clock at least twice), but 3052 tech/mechs will apply.

3052 - 3055

Clans invaded in 3052. IIc variants are second line Clan mechs of refit Inner Sphere. Inner Sphere started to see IIc variants in the Clan occupation zones.

IIC Variants were in production in early to mid 2800s. Technical Readout documentation mentions 3055 area as to when they are encountered and technological advancements in the 3050s to 3060s significantly improved them.

3056 - 3058 we see a large advance in IS technology and weapons thanks to the Clans.

Orgins IIC is clan tech, please remember that IIC means "X mech II Clan Upgrade"

Oh, and it's 3052.

Er, no?

The Clan invasion started in August, 3049 and ended with the Battle of Tukayyid in June, 3052.

We're currently in some undefined time between 3049 and 3052; we've had the Battle of Tukayyid once and reset the clock after that to do it again. Since it was a beta, yaknow. Like most things PGI does.

Anyway, the year is somewhere between 3049 and 3052, and PGI has said that they'd entertain including 'mechs up to 3054 IIRC.

Pretty sure they actually put us back to 3050 when they "reset" Community Warfare or whatever

The invasion did not stop after Tukayyid. It just prevented the clans from going past the truce line for 15 years (so they could and did still take planets galactic east and west). The invasion was stopped after winning the Trial of Refusal fought by forces of taskforce Bulldog and Serpent following the Trial of Annihilation of the Smoke Jaguars in 3060.

Technically correct, which of course is the best kind of correct :)

The coreward advance was stopped with the Battle of Tukayyid, which kind of meant that the invasion failed as they didn't manage to retake Terra. But yes, it did continue for another eight years.

The voice over in the tutorial indicates it's 3051. But Russ has said that mechs from 3052 are possible additions.
I'd expect to stay in the 3050-3052 range until CW is in it's final or near final version.

Outdated, Russ has said it's now 3052 and expect new mech packs which can contain Dual Gauss Clam heavies at the next Mech Pack Announcement Hall.

But that info was in May, via Twitter.

Most of the IIC mechs are refits or redesigns of IS mechs the clans took with them when they left the inner sphere.

The one exception to this is the Jenner IIC which wasn't in production before the clans left. So... how'd they get the design? Personally I think the Wolf's Dragoons stole the specs when they were with Kurita but who the hell knows.

Who cares? It's not like there is a story mode or anything, the time line is absolutely meaningless to MWO except as an artificial restriction to limit tech and mechs available.
