We are now back focused on expanding the product, CW phase 3, new public queue game modes and moving towards Single Player

Yes it is true that the first 2/3 of 2015 were about fixing, polishing and adding features meant for Steam customers.

Link to the Tweet here.

Thoughts?
Not very suprising of Phase 3. I LOL'ed so hard at HB's post and it's kind of true with the phase things.

In my opinion PGI tends to leave any project half-arsed before moving on to the next one. I mean i cant be bothered writing feedback any longer. I gave up.

It's like they want to do every aspect of the game in one volley. No wonder things gets half done when you do a bit of everything...on everything.

Look at how short Phase II of the Rebalance was. I assume phase I is in their eyes 'complete'.

How is this game even remotely ready for Steam? I firmly believe they just want to shove the rebalance down our throat. Overall balance changes is a nice start but far from done or reasonable balance as far i call it.

CW is PGI's baby and they are proud of it and simply cannot let go...

You haven't even seen the final finished form of the rebalancing, only test versions. Same with CW which is still in beta while other parts of the game got some much needed attention. How about we wait to see the actual results before complaining based on speculation?

We've been waiting for quite a while now... . In general, it would be better if they would actually finish one thing - like CW - before moving on to the next one.

How can they focus and spend a lot of time on working on one thing, when (almost) all of the community seems to be crying about hundreds of different things, that needed to be done NOW?
If they would have focused on CW only half a year ago, I bet today would be a lot of people still crying how bad the MechLab is, how imbalanced OP Clans are and how overquirked IS is...
With this much of (partialy contradictory) crying/feedback/opionons, there is not much more you can do, then to split up your time and show the community, that you are adressing all this "issues" and that the community cannot say that PGI wouldn't care about them/their feedback/their opinions... (What they still are doing, but I doubt that you could make some of the people here happy, regardless of what you are doing...)

The problem is that the game has so many construction sites which need attention.

Take the core gameplay: the power creep transformed the game into "Alpha Warrior: Online - Peek-A-Boo Edition". Lights (FS and ACHs excluded) with normal hitboxes are nearly forced to play long range weaponry to do anything because brawling is more or less dead since the risk vs. reward is hilariously broken by now.

And that is just one example.

We've been waiting three years for a release quality game. Anyone else done waiting yet?

I don't think they're working on too many different things at the same time. On the contrary, I feel that there are some issues, such as weapon balancing, that should be a continuous process with monthly changes. Every other patch, there should be changes to weapon balancing. Instead, we get these great leaps in balancing and metas that last for 6-18 months.

But yeah, excited about the single player stuff. Although I'll probably be disappointed that it can only be played online.

The amount of progress made the past 3+ years is glacial and mind blowing.

Minimally viable product.

I don't mind them working on CW more. I'm not against the mode and I really want it to work (and give me a reason to bring my mechs elsewhere other than the solo queue) but the 1) wait times and the 2) rewards are not quite there yet. I hope Phase 3 brings something good.

Edit:

I hope they have the foresight to create co-op missions alongside the single player campaign.

SP campaign can be the equivalent of those map missions in mobile/casual games like Kantai Collection or Brave Frontier (at least that's how I'm seeing it). Each completed segment has rewards and so on unless they make it an entirely separate game.

Hate to tell you this, but have been waiting for 3 years. The vast majority of us are not very hopeful. As someone who tested the "re balance" extensively, yeah, not even close.

Reading you signature. I can't help but think you have more or less a biased PoV on that.

Waiting since the CBT. And I still think PGI can do nice stuff. But they will never be able to do the perfect Mechwarrior game. Just deal with it.
If your even playing the game, it's because the core itself, the game you have is not as bad as people claim it to be. It got flaws of course, but it's far from being the pack of **** some haters like to say.

The game was so much worse under IGP and PGI actually managed to make an Ok game for a license THAT COMPLEX who was at first A FREAKING TABBLE TOP GAME.

People complain about balance and stuff. About how some mech are broken and some are useless. Big new's. They have already done much better than in the previous mechwarrior games where it was just PPC, and nothing else with the Clans Mechs being completly superior.

Damn it guys, you keep asking for the butter and the money of the butter. But your in no way helping that game to improve by your constant rants. If you can do stuff better, then go make your own game.

Easy to criticse when your not in the same kind of job.

because brawling is more or less dead

Seriously?
That means I'm long dead since I'm a brawler and I brawl every drop.
Also, every drop I see deathball and brawl rage. Every match is a hard push.
How's that?

About Russ: "the first 2/3 of 2015 were about fixing, polishing and adding features"

LOlled hard with this. :D

This game was developed like the Lost TV Series.... the writers literally came in each day, sat around, and said, "So, any ideas this time?"

Hands raise up in unison

"How about a black mist hunts the survivors down?"

Run with it!
