Seriously?
That means I'm long dead since I'm a brawler and I brawl every drop.
Also, every drop I see deathball and brawl rage. Every match is a hard push.
How's that?

About Russ: "the first 2/3 of 2015 were about fixing, polishing and adding features"

LOlled hard with this. :D

Weird. All I see is 80% of the time peek-a-boo and then in the final stages some brawls. On some maps it boils down to utter peek-a-boo like LRM Valley and Alpine

Dude, you should get a unit and see what are deathballs, flanking manoeuvers and focus. The game take a whole new level.

It's up to pilots.
Dropping with my friends, the match duration is between 2,30 and 4 minutes.
We skip the peek-a-boo phase and go close.
But yes, there are pilots who likes to be passive and defensive, and also who likes to use lrm.
It depends on pilots, not on the game.

I would say they are bad at business, but they are not.

They take a niche game, badly produce it and people still throw money at it in great quantities.

Because there has been zero competition, they have got away with this for the last three years, sure people have left, people stopped paying out.

They have strung us along, and it's been easy because a core of people want to believe that this will be a great game, when we and they really know they haven't the skills or the size of staff to do it, they know it, we know it, but they can never admit that, it's bad for business.

Of course they get offended, and defend themselves, they have ego's like everyone else that see's themselves as the next Donald Trump.

This ends with H.B.S new addition, and they have two choices, to work like hell and make this game viable to the masses, and by that I mean interesting more than just arena fights, Solaris is not going to keep this game running, neither is a public !v! mode or any of the crap they are projecting as good except Phase 3 Praise the Lord.

Only an interesting CW campaign will give this game any more distance after the unseen are all made.

CW needs fast improvements, and with big groups, penalised in arena yawns, this is the only place to use them.

It needs toys as rewards that you can't get anywhere else, it is supposed to be the hard core element of this game, make it so and keep it fresh.

Or they can milk it for the next two years and then fold with HBS, producing a new title, which I think is the way they chose hence the cooperation

Stefka, you really think they will try to understand? Because seriously. How can it be NOT PGI fault? You dare to say it's also players fault? How dare you?

...
I'm not even trying anymore to explain anyway. Haters and baby crys can only cry and critic PGI for what they can't do. But never appreciate what PGI can do. That means creating a Game that is still playable despite the huges problems that the Battletech universe create. Heck Clans were broken in others games and in Tabletop. Yet here they manged to make that less visible and IS can now holmd there own.

Etc etc. I give up.

Remember when CW was 90 days away?

Remember when Paul stated that 3rd person was was wanted by a very vocal crowds from the "Euro" Area?

Remember when you would NOT be allowed to drop against folks who use 3rd person?

Alpha Warrior Online?

PPFLD?

Laser Vomit?

A CW that after 3 years, is an absolute joke?

No new content to speak of?

New Mechs out the ass?

I am sorry but the list goes one. You are a LF like me, and you have seen and heard what I have heard. While my signature has changed, they have earned my animosity. Once they actually stop half assing everything, I may change it back to the Jenner it was,. TO many broken promises.

Sure they blame it on IGP, however Since they separated, balance has gone to crap, and I am sorry but the latest PTS action is not even CLOSE to what needs to be done to bring it under control. Mechs that need no quirks are quirked out the ass. Group queue is absolutely screwed since the last patch. No tru content has been added to thsi game. All this is is arena deathmach with NO other considerations given. You say there are issues which the Battle Tech universe creates in regards to balance. Sure, your right, but it is also RICH with story's and intrigue, and vibrance. NONE of which is in MWO.

Drop Shoot, Kill/Die, rinse repeat. Same repetitive, crap for three years. This game is not even close to a Steam release, it does not have what folks are looking for in a BT game.

Call me old fashionk I an not part of the CoD twitch FPS shooters. Mechwarrior was never meant to be that. But that is what its turned into. I would love to know, how many folks in the 30+ crowd have funded this game, versus those under 30.

I do.
I do and I was pleased that 3Rrd Person was brought. IT was already present in past games and what does it do now? Does it "break" the game like people claimed it would? No.
I do. Except that rules was prooved unecessary since people hardly used it anyway? Remember how 3rd person is not even active in CW also?

Excuse me, what were the olders game before? Ho yeah, it was the same thing only X10. Online people were only using PPC and stuff to blow the **** out of you in one shoot. Heck, look at the videos of Trials of Positions.

See above.
Also something largely used before.
Wait, CW is out since 3 years? But it was implemented last December. You mean CW was already there in Beta? At least we have something that can improve, and continu to do so. Remember how it was at first? How it is now? Remember all the light rush that are not possible anymore and the changes of rules that give equal chance for both side?
No new content? We JUST have new maps, changes made to quricks currently inbound and the arrival of CW who despite your cry still was something appreciable.
News mechs out of the ass. Sorry but what is the first things asked by the majority of the players? New mechs. You see weekly new guys asking if that mech or that mech will be implemented. And you say we have no new content?

I am sorry but since IGP has left. Balance have actually been better handled that ever before. And of course the Clans created problems. THEY CREATED PROBLEMS EVEN IN TABLE TOP! Yet now PGI managed to make something manageable. At least they try new ideas and goes back when they see it's clearly not working.

Perhaps you should stop asking the impossible. PGI will never be able to make the perfect mechwarrior game. Heck, even the new battletech game WILL have flaws that will be critise.

"Drop Shoot, Kill/Die, rinse repeat. Same repetitive, crap for three years.". Same goes for LOTS of others games. You are basicly crying about the core mechanics. That did not stopped gamed like Team Fortress, Call of Duty, Battlefield, World of Tank, War Thunder, World of Warcraft, Star Trek Online to keep going and going.

Mechwarrior was destined to be changed with the arrival of Online and the Balance. Someone had to try, PGI did and while the result is no way near perfect. It could have been and have been so much worse in the past.
Maybe if you stop concentrating on the bad stuff and actually take a look at the good stuff you would be able to understand.

You remind me of theses cinephile that watch a movie only to criticise it because it had flaws. Completly forgetting the good stuff he actually see or appreciated.

Did I mention the recent good stuff like the amelioration of the U.I? The simple fact they managed to make a nice system for the decals, the colors and pattern in a way much more pratcical and intelligent is itself something that need to be spoke off. Let alone the fact the Decals are still planned and they are starting to paving the way

I don't know why you White Knights have such confidence in this company and also always say it is the players fault like peek-a-booing. PGI provides the tools, the players (ab)use them. When hitscan weapons on long ranges combined in big alphas are much more effective than weapons with velocity, it is easy to predict what happens.

Also just look how fu-cked up this game is when it comes to ECM. With the ACH fpr CBs release the ECM inflation has reached an all time high. It is not funny anymore. It is just annoying. What is worse than we will have surly to wait for months till the changes on the PTS get implemented.
Currently I doubt I will stick around to witness this mess going on any further.

Speaking of ACHs. This mech is so broken compared to any other light (and of course you see only the 5/6 spl cheese builds) that people start to carry more and more streak systems. Which in turn forces you to use an ACH if you want to play a light simply because the ECM grants you (hopefully) time to run off before the streaks get a lock. A "normal" light just eats the streaks.
But it gets even worse: look at the boards. People already start to complain about lights again. Which covers actually the fact that 1. the culprit are not "the lights" but the ACH and to some degree the FS; 2. that the most underrepresented mech class is struggling at the moment

You haven't even seen the final finished form of the rebalancing, only test versions. Same with CW which is still in beta while other parts of the game got some much needed attention. How about we wait to see the actual results before complaining based on speculation?

I get your point, but sometimes it's enough. PGI seems to get away each time with unfinished 'features'.

MWO has been a test version for over three years.

Did you miss the memo that both Phase 1 and 2 of the rebalance was extremely short to begin with?

I wonder how much of the actual feedback has been implented. Aside a few i spotted from Mcgral's thread.

The main reason is why would you put faith in a company who manage to screw around three years of ongoing balance attempts? The laser / gauss vomit has been on too long. It was getting mainstream.

How about they goddamn finish a project for once? Top notch quaity, not some half biased gamemodes we still face after years.

Pracically a zero thing has been finished aside from mech packs. Overhaul maps is NOT new content!

I don't think they're working on too many different things at the same time. On the contrary, I feel that there are some issues, such as weapon balancing, that should be a continuous process with monthly changes. Every other patch, there should be changes to weapon balancing. Instead, we get these great leaps in balancing and metas that last for 6-18 months.

But yeah, excited about the single player stuff. Although I'll probably be disappointed that it can only be played online.

The thing i am feared of the singleplayer would look like Battlefield 1942 / 2 with some extreme wonky A.I.

Hard to explain but i think you get it. That singleplayer isnt singleplayer / co-op but with...a very basic A.I. Just a arena shooter with a few bots.

No dept, no story and no lore.

How can you complain about news that further development is in the works?

I mean, I don't like the way this game is developed slowly in stages, but there is no way in which news of further development is bad news.

I'd rather have a game with flaws but still enjoyable with a potable community.
Rather than a perfect game but with toxic community full of itself.

Basicly: I don't ask the moon and I enjoy what I have. Focusing on both good part and bad part. Trying to have idea from time to time to help improve the game. But in noway trying to force PGI and constantly insulting them.

It's funny you say I'm a white knight. Not so long ago a thread was asking what kind of knight we tought we were. And I view myself has a grey knight. But it's exactly has I said. The Blacknight see me has a white knight. The white knights see me has a grey knight. And the grey knight see me has a grey knight. Funny isn't it?

Seems like great news. But like a crazy scientist, PGI seems to have alot of feature orbs up in the air now, trying to get em all in the net possibel before Steam release which IMO gotta be a feat in itself.
They need at LEAST make the the balance pass as optimal as possible before MWO gets into the Steam pit with alot of critical, biased, prejudiced members looking to dismantle and shred the reputation of MWO as much as they can. Not all steam users are harsh (like me). But PGI, you better get prepared and polish the game while adding features that are worth spending time on, like CW.

I bet its a though job, but focus fire on each problem/ project and you may come out better in the end.

The balance will never be perfect, because every person thinks it should be their way... And that's the "problem" with the game, every person want their features and rules the way he would like. If PGI does it different, the game is broken.

At this point, I think we should all be glad they are going to bring new stuff to the game, and make a more enjoyable CW experience.

Forget trying to make this game perfect, because it will never be. It's impossible to please everyone, so let's just be glad we have nice mechs to play with...

Constantly ranting, insulting, and criticise the game hardly help you. You don't say you want the perfect game. But you know you are asking for it by imply's and your insults.

And why would you have stopped playing? Sorry but that doesn't make any sens at all.
