Do the stock mech chassis count for locking down a weight class? Or are they kind of standalone that way?

Edit: Put differently, if we're filling holes for "weight classes we don't have," do we count the 3025 chassis, or no?

The Stock Mech chassis are standalone. Your original Stock Mech (from the list) must remain unmodified with no modules equipped, although you can paint it or use any decals or cockpit items that you have earned in-game.

The other variants can be used for Faction Warfare, but not for any of the other challenges.

Remember the main purpose for doing FW on your WMC account is to get free Mechbays for your challenge Mechs.

once again the chancellor has seen fit to offer us a 40% bonus and I missed the email do to a party this weekend. (Granddaughter turned 2) but a little late and we we still get the 40% bonus.

BTW House Marik has been paying 40% bonus....
let me know if you guys want to jump ship...
i have not had any trouble getting into chicklet matches or occasionally hooking up with a group. when that win does come around the bonus money helps...

About my stock-challenge: Its even worse then i ever thought
I dont know right now if i ever will finish that challenge...This mech is killing nothing, but my remaining fun in MWO (sry). True story: did 15 rounds so far with ~1700dmg done in TOTAL!

As you mentioned earlier, that's more than enough to keep even the most enthusiastic of f2p part timers busy.

Thinking ahead:

Grasshoppers will be next heavy after the Dragons I'm doing for Bonus #3, Stock 3025 edition. And that's going to be a while, have no doubt. I may want to do a Bonus #4 medium first though (because of weight-class shenanigans). After I'm done levelling Crabs on my primary, I'll run the Enforcers some and make a call.

I'm well aware that 100 matches for the 3025 icon is still a hefty investment of playtime. It'll be important to only drop when I'm in the right mindset to employ the right tactics to meet the added challenge of running stock. That'll keep me plenty busy, and will stretch out Bonus #3 (which is well and good, some things shouldn't be rushed). I just like thinking ahead, it makes my geek streak happy.

Geek note: When I was doing the quiz that ended up with Victors for Bonus #1, (after several more "Panther" results, lol), I kept fiddling with good-faith answers to my fence-sitting questions to see what the quiz's magic 8-ball would return, and got "Grasshopper" multiple times as well (less often than "Victor," and after 2 returns of "Victor"). This seems like a nice pick as a nod to my quiz tendencies, besides being a mech I enjoy.

Bonus #5 is a long way away. I'll be interested to see what balance changes do with various mechs if and when I get there.

Ed, well done. This is more than enough for any challenger. We'll have plenty to work on, even if we complete all of these, in fitting all the engines and equipment, modules, variants/duplicates, whatever, and truly mastering the skill of piloting our original mechs.

Small Update from my side:

1. Thanks to the event (*sing* It´s raining ´Bays...) i was able to fill up my reinforcement-roster with 3 nice Stalkers!
2. Third Cheetah nearly mastered
3. 38 rounds played with the stock-Battlemaster (*weeping in pain*). Unless the matchmaker decides to throw me into 62 Tier5 matches in an row i will definately not fullfill the goal of that challenge.

Well, technically if I were buying them through the gift store with real money, indeed it would come with that 'bay. That option's off the board unless I win a contest by accident and am gifted a code so my wallet is cut out of the deal entirely.

If I were to buy it through the client, with MC, it won't come with a 'bay under the current conditions unless I'm laying down the the mondo credits for a full Mastery Pack. (My primary account has a thread on that) That would, hypothetically, be in the low-to-mid 4k range in MC cost. It might be worth it if I'm sitting on that much hoarded f2p MC by that point.

Cost of a Panther Mastery Pack for the sake of the exercise: MC 1445(Champ)+2625(Hero)+985(PNT-9R)+900(3 mechbays)+2500(30 days premium time)=8455*50%=4225-ish because they round down to the nearest number divisible by 5. Having the 8Z as the stock "3rd Wheel" would make it MC 40 cheaper, the 10P would add MC 360 to the total. So yeah, low-to-mid 4k price range. Add MC 325 to that total if there's a dashboard statue included, but they're only included when they're already in game--Panther doesn't have one.

Update: The lootbag moot court ruled in my favor tonight. After being shut out all week, the Lootbag Moot ruled in my favor, citing the law of averages and awarding me 2 mechbays in the same hour's worth of lootbags. Justice is served

Heroes never came with mechbays when purchased with MC. If you buy on the gift store with real money you get a mech bay these days but imho you have to buy the base pack first. But those are no options for us anyway according to the rules.

I sit on 2693 MC currently and wait for a hero mech sale so I can finally ad the Yen-Lo-Wang to my stable, then I have them all.


By the way, I managed to get Ace of Spades in a 3 ERLL Cent, what a glorious mech that is

My 680GTX is just fine, did you overclock yours? Also, the card manufacturers usually put either too much or too little heatsink compound between the heatsink and the chips. Too much compound becomes an insulator and too little does not transfer heat effectively because it completely dries out. Also, your fan may be dead, so check that. But if you already ordered and upgrade, then great, but the 680 gtx is still one of the best cards ever.

On a slightly more serious note, C#, my alt mastered the Victors on the weekend, when I can become less lazy, i'll take a snap shot, and post it somewhere else then post it here as proof, until then it shall remain unconfirmed, and I've started Centurions
