At the time I posted that comment, I was not sure if there was still an acting coordinator or not. Noble Challengers will be integrated into the WMC unit, but I have not decided exactly how yet (more info should come with Challenge 1).

i can understand the confusion. there are days i don't know my own name let a lone that i am the acting challenge coordinator. now that i have a new assistant coordinator hopefully things will go smoothly. Truth be known RL gets a bit hectic for me in the spring and fall and most holidays. trust me when i type "if you like weekends and holidays never buy port-a-potties" lol. also RL has given me a 15 min of fame opportunity that has kept my dance card full. should of recruited an an assistant as soon as i was bumped from assistant to coordinator. my mistake, no excuse, i messed up.

I have been doing better than I thought in my stock, unskilled Marauder 3R.

my stock mech was the MAD 3R. the biggest thing that helped me was putting all the weapons on their own group and never never alpha that thing. slow steady firing was key. that and realizing that my armor was all wrong for MWO. cover is your friend. in the end i came to like it as it is actually a very good mech if you accept it's limitations.

seeing as already did 100 matches in a stock MAD 3R i felt it would be pointless to do it again.

I kinda figured, but didn't want to assume. :)

Yeah, I never alpha even in my customized mechs, so that is easy for me, the hardest part is remembering that normal PPCs have a minimum range.

Also, during my horrible commute today, I thought quite a bit about the recurring end-game for the 9 Noble Challenges that should keep it relevant for at least as long as the WMC. The 9 Challenges themselves will take quite some time to complete, probably longer than the Order of the Black Phoenix grind. But as I said, if you complete the challenges, you will definitely be worthy!

I won't have much free time today / tonight, but I will try to have Challenge 1 for the 9NC up by sometime Saturday.

I won't be able to participate in the new challenge, between hardware issues, and TBH, not wanting to juggle a fourth acct.

But
https://mwomercs.com...pc-gamer-codes/

For those who want some colors, etc, you probably will have to input the codes, either on the pcgamer page, or in your own redeem box at the top of the forum here, multiple times, but the codes will eventually work.
(multiple times, apparently, if you really want multiple coconut monkeys.)

I leave that up to individuals consciences as to whether that is gaming the system or not, though this is a case of...who does it hurt? IMO.

No problem Bishop. I myself am going to only play my 9NC account from now on because I will be playing BATTLETECH more in the near future (so rest assured that the development of this challenge will most likely not be abandoned anytime soon).

I actually got a code from that issue of PC Gamer in 2012 and I have already used it on my main account.

As far as the 9NC, I have already stated that cosmetic changes are fine as long as no real money is spent on them.

Yeah, which IIRC was also how WMC ran, hence why I pooped this up. 3 colors, 1 skin. It may take multiple attempts, but in under 5 minutes I had added them to my Anders acct, and I do like having a little more color option.

I guess I need to tabulate results for my WMC acct, too, don't I? I wish hardware, ISP issues, and well, 2 other accts to run as primaries hadn't impacted things as much.

I actually need to look at the OP and determine if I actually completed any beyond the primary challenge, TBH.

As for the "conscience" thing, I meant that one could look at using these codes as exploits, or what not, and may not feel it is "honest" to use them....

*shrugs*

The only thing that irritates me is that I actually paid for a magazine to get the codes (and to get into closed beta) and these codes were supposed to be limited and the items were supposed to never be released again (although the NCIX Centurion has the same camo pattern).

What Mech Challenge Results:

Pilot: Anders Hammarskjold
Birth Planet/Realm: Rasalhague, Draconis Combine/ Free Rasalhague Republic (born 3027)
Mech: VTR-9K Victor (destroyed in Clan Invasion)/ RFL-3N Rifleman (current)
Affiliation: Mercenary, WMC.

Stats:
The total matches won't align because there are a few matches from me attempting the second challenge, though, the total numbers were small enough as to be only a minor anomaly on total matches.

As one can see, my drops were heavily weighted toward the 9K, though the 9S got significant play. Overall, the 9K really started to click with an AC10, 3x MLs and SRM4s. That said, running the 9S "Super stock" (AC20, 2x ML, 3x SRM4) was the bread winner.

And... the Stock RFL-3N? Well, it was certainly as challenging as expected... and yet oddly fun, because of that.

Other Stats for giggles and science!

If I had working hardware, I'd probably skill tree em up for one last set of runs..... but, ce la vie!

Yeah. It also makes me wonder (though I would not want to do so, nor risk my acct by testing it) if that same vulnerability/exploit exists for Gift Codes and such, in which case, PGI needs to seriously shore up their system. ;/

Those stats are interesting Bishop, and fairly impressive for the stock Victor. I know, people will point out that you and Amaranth started the challenge as experienced players and therefore would be expected to do better than a new player who is playing under the same restrictions, but impressive nonetheless.

As far as the 9NC, I am going to backtrack on playing my 9NC account exclusively and I am pretty sure that it will end up going the way of my WMC account. Really, it just comes down to the fact that I have limited gaming time and I really just don't want to spend it grinding. That said, I will keep my word and finish setting up the challenge in a way that it runs indefinitely, so anyone who wants to can stick with it until MWO dies.

Yeah, I wanted Dawn too, but I refuse to use Facebook, so I guess now is my chance to get her!

We'll be okay for about 6 more invites, I think. Because of the cost-scaling, it'll get dicey at around a seventh invite, which would coincidentally be member number 57.

No worries for now though Posted Image
