Interesting info about Finns, but this is all about St. Paddy's is all about green

If you notice who we are contracted to, you will see it is all about Purple LOL
Ok if you want to paint your mechs green for St Paddy's Day feel free. But remember the command staff here at The What Mech Challenge does not encourage drunken mech piloting, but if you do part take in a bit of green brew and do a drop or 2. Videos of drunken Mech brawls is highly entertaining. Please post them here....

Gentlemen, here is a toast to the What Mech Challenge!

And a Challenge indeed. When i started playing MWO back in beta days, zipping through red guys in my trusty Jenner, i would never have expected to return a couple years later learning how to pilot one of those Assault monsters (read: target).

At first i struggled immensly, being shot by everyone and his dog, barely getting some 200 damage in QP if i were lucky.
After 15 matches or so i saw some improvement. Reconfiguring my Victor whenever i got some spare CBs, learning to shield instead of gaining "armour by running fast", i was able to get around 400 damage a match.
This lasted about 10 more matches, i gained confidence, good times.

Then i rebuilt my Mech - XL325 engine, 2x LPL, 1x MRM40, 1x LRM5, DHS, Endo, 4 JJ.
Don't you laugh at the LRM, it's a psychological weapon not meant to do any damage at all. Yes, i'm mean at times.

And then came this match today. Polar Highlands, which surely boosted my LRM5 from "forget it" to "why bother?".
Anyway. 6 kills, 1093 damage. Me. In an Assault Mech. IMPOSSIBRU!

Without the What Mech Challenge, i would never have given a thought about piloting an Assault at all.
But now, i became a better player because i know about them.

Next time i'll drop with this ancient Jenner of mine coming across say an Atlas duking it out with A Dire Whale, i'll know what to do. Much better than before.
Next time i'll face a King Crab with my Victor, let's dance!

Big thanks to the friendly although small crew of the What Mech Challenge again for making this happen, and even if the deadline (launch of the anticipated unnamed Battletech game in April) is not far away, maybe you want to hop onto the wagon.

You might learn something new. I certainly did.

just noticed we have a new FP event going on. Switched us to House Davion, a bit late in the game but we are in the fight none the less. will try to get us into the Clan fight sooner. i see me dropping in at least 1 trial mechs for the Clan bit.

with the clan event over i have placed us back with House Marik. With the new loyalty system I have pledged our unit loyalty to House Marik to start our Loyalty tour. i figure 60/90 days with each faction should get us all some free mech bays. I guess we have 10 drops to make to get our goodies.

Also the is a very lucrative event going on

my RL busy season starts as soon as the road restrictions get lifted. so any day from now to June. the real busy season is from labor day to Thanksgiving. I'll do what i can but soon I will be a ghost.

I dropped 2M c-bills into the unit coffers thanks to the current events. How much more is needed?
I have all 3 Ravens specced out, but still a lot of skill points to go.

I'm mostly playing during events for free bonus stuff.

Looks like PGI is refreshing the website's color scheme a bit, from that older darker yellow to the a lighter yellow.

Seems like a "cleaner" look. Less gritty, dark merc, more polished and crisp.
