small update panther-pilot-wise

10p+10k mastered (thx to the event), the 9R is halfway through masterskill (~11k).

that must have been my best match so far..



As soon as i have mastered all 3 mechs i will post my final stats for them (dont expect wonders to come )

Can I use them on my normal acct?

Always thought part of the challenge was the "NPE" which is hard to replicate on a monied acct. But can't say for sure. Hopefully Ed will inform us.

If only everyone relatively new could go back to when there was no "Cadet Bonus" (those monies did get injected after the fact though) and no "Academy Bonuses" (for doing SFA really) . With those 2 combined (+/- 15 Million?) buying Mechs, after using, what now are surely far superior "Trial Mechs" (Champions ffs), will be a much easier task than when the real "grind" was "before all that".

Yeah, it was really just idle 'wishlisting' on my part. After thxgiving w/ the fam tonight, I'll create my acct. Thinking 'Ujio Mirajin' for a name.

In reality tho, once I do this, I'll know very well how to lvl them on my main acct, lol.

So I learned a couple of things last night -

First (and most importantly), the Grasshopper is a pretty crap 'mech. Decent hardpoints, but all energy and all in the torso, making it very difficult to engage targets outside of a fairly restricted area. It should he able to run an XL nicely though - once I scrape together the funds to buy one. Only 4 mil to go! After I completed the Academy and ran two games in a trial TDR & TBR, I was able to pick up the 5P, so I didn't have to shell out for the obligatory DHS/Endo tax.

Second, the Academy is actually really well done. Impressively so, actually. Introduces some important concepts that new players desperately need to know. I'm gonna run through it on this acct for the ~5mil cbills.

This is definitely gonna be painful for a while, lol.

1) The idea is not to play with the main account. And to play only with the "what mech..."-machine (as long as you can not afford it, trials are allowed). real cash is not allowed (exept free MC by events like the actual one).
If anyone would use their mainaccounts it would be not "fair". No modules, no free gazillions of GXP, no heroes to make money...all that is part of the challenge (at least in the beginning).

2) What faction do we play? Right now, none. If i undestood Ed right, maybe later when we levelled our mechs.

1) Part of the What Mech Challenge is to buy your mechs with Cbills that you have earned in-game, so no, it would not be acceptable to use mechs on your main account, even if you already own the mech the test gave you. Yes, this weekend's event is excellent for this Challenge as you will earn double xp and get rewards like Cbills, MC, Premium Time and other cosmetic items (which will be highly valued since we do not spend any money on our Challenge accounts).

2) At this time, I am not going to choose a faction for (WM), since many of us have not mastered our Challenge mechs yet and it would be impossible for some of us to field a full drop-deck for CW with only our Challenge mechs. I am thinking that maybe once we master (not just elite) three variants of our original Challenge Mechs that we can take the test a second time (answering slightly different) and level up a second mech chassis, so we can put together drop decks. I predict that it would take about 2-4 months to master our three original mechs and then our three "Master Challenge" mechs.

The Grasshopper is OP once you master it and get a good build, on my main account I have over 1.5KDR on each of my Grasshoppers. I would have loved to get a Grasshopper as my mech!

Maybe, i find time tomorrow to master the third PNT. Will try the test again (it will be Comandos, i can already feel it )
