I did, with MTAC! He started playing with us just as the unit was beginning to break up, though, so we lost contact as MTAC people stopped playing together.

Yep, I thought I remembered you on his friends list. He was brand new and super impressed that someone could actually make a locust work ;)

Of course, if we were, we'd save a bundle on the room, what with how many of us would fit into a single. Posted Image

Something just occurred to me.

HBS' Battletech game is set in 3025.

Does this mean we should all focus strictly on variants available to that era?

(Though even a dedicated Lore Hound such as I, can't bring myself to limit the tech that we are allowed to kit those variants out with. Posted Image ).

Looks like it'll be AS7-D, AS7-D-DC, and AS7-RS strictly for me.

Now to assemble the 40,000,000 plus in c-bills this is going to take. Posted Image

This was not a stated requirement, so you may take any variant you like. But, if you feel compelled to challenge yourself further feel free to do so. And remember, it is more than a year until Battletech is released so you have time :)

In the case of the Atlas, I don't suspect that I'll feel like I'm missing out by adopting that limit, since it simply means I'll be forgoing the AS7-S, and AS7-K, which I think I'm okay with.

Of course, if anyone else feels inclined to adopt the same limit, I'm always happy to advise on selections that are era appropriate.

As for the time allotment, if I can wait as long as I have to watch a new Star Wars movie without a character named Jar Jar Binks (*fingers crossed, don't let me down J.J.! Posted Image ), I think I'll survive it. Posted Image

Oh.

Uh-oh.

I didn't realize it, until just now.

"Jar-Jar"

"J.J."

I think my "like" button must be broken...I can only like that once.

P.S. This calls for a legitimate "Squeeeeeee". I was really hoping that would be the December unveiling!

Crusader, Phoenix Hawk, Valkyrie, Wasp, & Stinger left to go, and all the bipedal Unseen that are important to me will be in-game (though, honorable mention for the Longbow, and the "Ost" series mechs, since I wouldn't be sad to see them added by any means Posted Image ).

Quads and LAMs can roll out with expansions down the road, right? Posted Image

Am still wondering about the Valkyrie/Veritech based ones. Those are so part and parcel to the Macross/Robotech brand that they are going to be super hard to get past the HG lawyers unless a serious deal has been reached, I would think. Destroids and even Khyron's Officer Pod aren't really as indelibly linked as the VF series and Regult Pods are.

So am wondering if we are going to see those....

I'll keep on dreaming until it happens. I mean, hey, we were never supposed to get any of them, and then after Phoenix pack, we were definitely never supposed to get this new batch.

And, of course, I know that if there's anyone out there who can keep the faith alive, it's Bishop Steiner...the Urbanmech is all the testament to that we need! Posted Image

well, you and me both, and these 4 are unquestionably the most popular. The Phoenix Hawk is probably number 5 for popularity. Of course, 15$ for a Medium Hero doesn't sound quite as appealing as for Heavy Heroes..... which could push things in favor of the Crusader.

Ok, during my long and miserable commute home, I thought things over and decided that for the time being I will just take a day or two off from MWO before deciding to quit for good. Not to mention, seeing the Clan victory on Tukayyid makes me much happier, although I hope PGI does not use this as an excuse to nerf Clan mechs even more, because the CW games during the event were mostly very close (except for the 12-man vs pug matches on either side).

I think that the reason the unseen mechs were not in the What Mech are You test is because they had not been confirmed yet in MWO. You did give me an idea, though...maybe the BONUS 2 challenge will be to master three variants of an unseen (reseen) mech. We would have to wait until they are available for Cbills, but it may take some of us Challengers that long just to master their original and BONUS mechs.

Anyway, signing out to start my MWO break and deciding time.

Take some time and decompress. I know when they ruined my favorite mech (at the time) the Victor, with all their hamfisted attempts to nerf poptarting, I was pretty burned out. Mind you this was also toward the end of 2013, if I recall, and putting up with that year, the joke of a Launch event, etc.... enough was enough.

Some might recall that I was not white knighting anything by midway through 2013, and in fact openly ripping the heck out of Russ and Paul.

Took a break, time went on..the itch returned, I re-evaluated, and went back to work. Mind you, I'm still salty about the nerf to jumping range and speed and twisting, but sometimes, you just need to carry on.

I like the thought of an Unseen for pt 3. But perhaps, it should be one voted on by peers or such, so we don't just grab our kneejerk favorites?

I've taken breaks from all sorts of games, and I definitely find that every time, it helps me remember the parts of the game that I love, in-spite of whatever I might less than.

Sometimes it helps to take a break. Do something else (i mean really different). And maybe in 3-6 months the world looks different ;). Did it myself, earlier this year.

Just finished the cadet drops and made enough cbills to buy and Super Stock both the VTR 9S and 9K with a few 100k left for wine women and song. i guess now the real grind starts, need almost 10m to buy buy and SS the VTR 9B. with no PT left the grind is real. so if you see a VTR singing in the street be kind and put a cbill in the cup,

Brother can you spare some Cbills???
