As someone who can usually nail 250 no problem, let me play devil's advocate here...
The holiday events, Halloween, Xmas, etc, tend to be giveaways, traditionally. The RNG of the grab bag itself is the event, the fun is in just playing and getting free stuff for showing up, because they're holidays that are based on....wait for it...getting free stuff just for showing up.
We have all sorts of other challenges, events, and tournaments that have a higher skill requirement, and that's also fine, that's their whole point, to reward those that take the time and effort to figure out how to game the system, or the few who happen to actually be decent.
So I fully get all the complaints. You give people free stuff on a holiday event one year, or several years, then suddenly change the event, people will notice, people will complain.
My only personal complaint is just how random the RNG for the bags really is... I remember getting Premium time early in every other grab bag style event I've done, thus making the whole event worth it for me. Get Premium early, then the rest of it's not so bad a grind, you're making CBills.
Thus far I've gotten GXP, which I need less than a flamer or single HS, those you can at least sell....and some ugly cockpit items, along with a small amount of CBills. In my neighborhood, PGI would be the house the trick or treaters go back to later and TP, for giving out health food instead of candy. If I get a free Timby, and even 1 day premium, I'll be absolutely thrilled. Short of that, I'll have wasted a weekend I could have been playing games that have bigger, better Halloween events.
(The underlined portion is what PGI should care about....if they throw lackluster holiday events, where other games go all out on freebies and extras, they're hurting themselves, not me as a player.)
