Please, people. Learn how to play this game, at least long enough for me to get out of the PSR tier solo-dropping has gotten me into and you'll never have me raging at you on comms again.

Edit:
100GXP, 5 MC, 5MC, small laser, 87,500 cbills, uav, coolshot, uav, flamer, 75,000 cbills, 400gxp, 5MC . . .
You can not be serious with these rewards.
Let me just wrap my head around this for a minute. The Timber champion that's the grand prize for this would be sold by you for 7,590 MC. You're giving out at best an average something like 4 or 5 MC per qualifying game. That means that to a person that qualifies on all 125 potential matches you give out enough MC to buy 1/15th to 1/12th of this 'Mech.
I'm glad for you that you have players that are happy with the free anything. I'm just saying that I'd much, MUCH rather average 65 or even 45 MC a match and have no chance for a timber.

Russ says he wants something other than the laser-vomit meta that currently exists, yet the grand prize for this event is a mech that has the potential for 2 missile, 2 ballistic and 5 laser hardpoints - and PGI's idea of a MadCat champion is 2LPL and 3MLas, 1TC and a boatload of Heat Sinks.
Are you sure you guys actually hate the laser meta? Thanks for the 6.5 million c-bills that trash Champion was worth though.

I play and have fun (as always) and i get some thing for free, hurray, why complain about it?
Can't play today though, forgot to take my Hotspot with me this morning, so it will be a long and boring day "at work" today. But maybe tomorrow i can continue to grind XP for skills, earn some c-bills, have fun and win some random prizes.
Greetings

3 days premium, 3 mech bays, a few assorted cockpit items (the grinning pumpkin looks epic heh), quite a bit of c-bills, a small smattering of MC and the usual assortment of GXp.
Still got about 30 or so cw drops to do, but Im not hopeful for the Timber.

Seems like they went a lot more stingy with the rewards this time around. During the Christmas event I made out with 3 or 4 mechbays and about a weeks worth of premium time. So far i've gotten one day of premium time and that's about it, no mechbays or timber. I appreciate the free stuff but compared to the last time this sucks.

You can completly customize the mech with omnipods so no one is forcing you to run it like that. The champion was made by the community and not PGI. Calling it a garbage machine is just dumb when it basically is the best mech in its weight class and perhaps the entire game.

The latest champion mechs have been community created, voted on, and implimented. If it's a laser "meta" champion, that's because players created meta builds (which change all the time) and voted on them because "they are competitive (and meta at this time). Months from now, we'll hear how bad the champion mech is, and how PGI can't create mech patterns that are any good, all because the meta changed to something other than lasers.
It's a continual pattern that seems to happen with Champion mechs. Even when PGI created the champion mechs, they based them after what was the most common loadout in game for them at that time. This resulted in very meta mechs, that were no longer meta and very weak, or mechs that were not new player friendly, who are the players most likely to use trial champion mechs. (Even the user created champion mechs seem rarely to be designed for a new user, but always for the competitive crowd, and whatever happens to be the current meta.)

These things are eating up time, and there are a lot of people not finding drops.

I've been playing it stock and it performs very well. A little hot, but it is definitely manageable. As for the meta, even in pugs you are seeing a lot of lasers. I thing hit reg might be a little off on SRMs and I do believe ACs had a recent adjustment (won't call it a nerf, cause I haven't noticed much), but the truth is with cooldown modules so you can fire rapidly and loading up on DHS they are very easy to play. So I can see noobs using a version of that as well as seasoned players.
So far the only weapon I don't really like are LRMs, but I still play with them. I like to vary my builds, but this Timby does very well.

I will never understand why people stand right behind other people. Get to my side so you can fire too. And yes, a push is a push, but when you are already down 7-0 in a match I should never run into someone if I try to back up. Just ridiculous!

Honestly seeing these prices makes me wonder, why I even try to play this game. My only good shot was a mechbay so far.
And for the "play for fun" and "don't take it seriously" things: half of my team are ******* who don't use the chat at all and can't read the map. Oh and don't forget the clan mech flood.
Maybe PGi should have kept the original point limits and give bigger prices?

1% per. game, supposedly. something like 70% if you do all 150 possible matches.
If it makes you feel any better I've run through so many games now my chances of getting one are single digit. Shame I never got premium time, that would have been worth. . . something.
I don't get this...Each qualifying match has a 1% chance.......but at match #150 it jumps to 70%???
