thanks for lowering the score to 150/100 i appreciate it.

but 1 point for 1 cw match? to get all the 50 points one would have to play at least 50 cw matches more likely ~75 because you dont can choose between invasion and counter attack, there are ghost drops and good premades of 12 also.

so lets say 70 games for all the points: that would take about 35 hours..

I don't get this...Each qualifying match has a 1% chance.......but at match #150 it jumps to 70%???

Nah, that's like your cumulative binomial probability for all the pulls. It's 125 matches, so if each time you have a 1% chance of getting a Timberwolf than your probability of getting one after 125 pulls is 70%. Of course each time you don't get one your chances of getting one go down. Say you did all your CW matches, or ignored them and got no timber. Then your 75 remaining 1% pulls have about a 50% total chance for a timber.

Nothing given out in this event's worth stressing over, so it's a good time to brush up on your statistics if you're bored.

Finding it hard to make 150 in a light in assault or conquest, when its my duty to cap. Can we buff the match score a bit for capping/scouting? Role warfare, umm..

Thanks for the event but the prices are bit low. Even a free stuff can kill my will to come back and play. 100 GXP and low amount of c-bills as a treat? Seriously
Honestly seeing these prices makes me wonder, why I even try to play this game. My only good shot was a mechbay so far.
And for the "play for fun" and "don't take it seriously" things: half of my team are ******* who don't use the chat at all and can't read the map. Oh and don't forget the clan mech flood.

Maybe PGi should have kept the original point limits and give bigger prices?

I'm pretty sure if I stood on the corner and handed out $5 bills to anybody who passed by, someone would complain to me about it. You got a free mech bay, that's something you have to normally have to pay money for and you got it for free. So why again are you whining? If you don't enjoy the game, then don't play and go find something else to do that you do enjoy.

Yeah, there have been some jerks this weekend, but people seem to forget there are always jerks even when there aren't events. Since the score was lowered I haven't really noticed a difference in game-play from any other non-event weekend.

Yeah, but the vast majority of what we're getting is stuff you can get in the game normally anyway. C-bills, GXP, UAVs, coolant pods, small lasers. That's four out of five pulls, with the others being 5 MCs lots that couldn't be scraped up to a fifth of what I'd need to get a 'Mech bay.

This isn't someone standing on a street corner handing out five dollar bills. It's more like going trick or treating and going to a house that's handing out bags of air with the occasional coupon redeemable for 5% off a snickers bar. I understand perfectly well that PGI doesn't owe it's players free stuff, but at the same time I look at their version of an event and I'm just left shaking my head.

You always expect horrendously bad play during these events, but this one takes the cake by a mile. I have never seen such idiocy before. Teams full of people who apparently don't realize 1, how incredibly easy the event target is to hit, and 2, that they are much more likely to do so if they *win*. Consequently, you have entire teams just sitting below a hill doing nothing while getting LRM'ed to death. And I try. I call a push, and lead said push, and I'm literally the only one moving.

Please, people. Learn how to play this game, at least long enough for me to get out of the PSR tier solo-dropping has gotten me into and you'll never have me raging at you on comms again.

Sounds like a typical day in the PUG. I'm sure the event had some impact but it sounds pretty typical to me.

Whew, after 94 pulls, I finally got my Timbie....

I was never 'taken' by the mech... like I am with the Marauder and Cauldron Born... it just never appealed to me... but piloting one, and seeing that shadow infront of me made me smile... (it also helps thar I painted it neon pink :P) It has to have the LRMs on it, though, or it's just not a Timby to me :P

I'll probably never pilot it again once I master them... I like my CBs better... but it IS kind of fun n.n

I'm just a little old noob here with a question about this event. What in the world are the other two game modes "Invasion / Counter-Attack" and how do you get to play them? I finished the other three so looking for more draws...

Those are Community Warfare (CW) match modes. That's in the "faction" tab on the top of the tab bar (right next to the skills tab). In order to play that, you will need to choose a faction (Inner Sphere factions can use Inner Sphere only mechs, and Clan factions can only use Clan mechs, so be careful), and you will need to have 4 mechs to create a drop deck with (that lands within the weight limits of the drop ship).

Once you have a faction selected, then you need to look at the "worlds" you can attack to defend. Find one with a large population number to actually get a match. Right now, you'd have about an hour of play before the cease fire sets in and planet attacks are weighted for possible takeover.

For the most part, stick with your team, and ask them what you need to do. It's too much to cover in a single post...

Been dealing with that ALL DAY LONG, man. Some people are in it for just the points and they say 'screw teamwork!' or they yell at you for calling targets and giving maneuvering options like you're someone who's taking the game too seriously.

Well, when I drop pug games with my unit, we play to win-I don't tolerate anything less, and we usually do well for ourselves.

Thx Tesunie, I'll have to give it try. Go Inner Sphere, cause that's all I play. :D

Be warned then, many premade teams drop in there. It's a different game mode(s) from what you are use to. Inform your team (in team chat) about your newness to that mode status, and just follow their direction. It wont be easy, at least not at first.

I wish you luck.

(And any specific questions, feel free to ask, either in a post or even a PM. Posting may give you a faster response, as I'm not always on.)

Thanks for the event and for lowering the scores needed to qualify...but one thing we all should consider, how hard would it be to complete this event if we couldn't hard select what game modes we want (or don't want) to play? Please PGI don't take away our choice (again)!

Spend the weekend with your girl...

... because trying to achieve a match score of 100 is not worth the stress and the grind.

I actually got that exact question raised during the Town Hall when Russ mentioned the Voting system coming back. He said they would change the format, so that it is xx matches in any game mode... So, it might actually work out better that way for people who dislike certain game modes. I click all 3 options anyway, so it's fine by me. I just hope there's a 4th "whatever" option :P

Plus, we'll get to vote on maps! :D I'm gonna guess Mordor is effectively off the rotation... probably Bog, too... which is a shame, cuz that's my favorite map.
