It's great that the event is being extended... but I still can't log back in... And now it's time to get ready for work. *sigh* So much for my day off too!

No, it's the MWO server itself, it seem overloaded or something like that...

Heard it was a fiber line getting cut somewhere in Canada.

Ouch.

The twitter feed of Russ confirmed it was a line cut. Outside of PGIs hands.

Server is up however seems a bit unstable. Managed a 187 match score game, but everyone in the match was experiencing lag and desync, mechs rubberbanding all over.

Was grateful for all the constant updates today from Russ, one of the first times having a Twitter account just for MWO news paid off.

Hey all,

We have a post covering today's server issues up here.

The short of it is that while services are gradually being restored, we are not 100% just yet. Connection may intermittent, and you may experience lag or stability issues in-game. We'll post an update regarding event extension once we're confident in server stability.

Yep.

Depending on the size of the fiber and environmental conditions, it could be quite some time. From what I understand, it is underwater fiber.

If this is a main trunk fiber, you are looking at 256-512 count fiber cable. You need to strip clatting, clean, prep, and cut each fiber end cleanly. Remember this stuff is the size of a human hair! Then place in the splicer and splice it, then you need to test your splice and the cable itself. Heat shrink to protect your splice and move on to the next one. This is not an easy process and takes lots of time. Hot cut (breaking an active fiber line) is something that is naturally avoided and done in the middle of the night.

Some groundcrew someplace is in some deep sh*t for this cut.

It does not seem fair that there are people who have played 10 games or less and gotten the grand prize TBR-C Champ then stopped playing, and yet I've played all weekend and maxed out my standard game modes and still haven't got it.

I tried to jump on CW after work this evening but a 30 min wait to get into a match with a team that was less than useful, I'm not going to get any qualifying CW matches in before the event ends.

Now there is basically no one playing CW, I'm sure if I tried the wait would be more than 30 min.

Agreed, 90+ games and no TBR-C should just be injected after 75 games.

A shame that you get so many Ghost Drops when you try and play CW to get your rolls.

25/25 in assault, skirmish and conquest and no TBR-C....... Unlikely I'll get enough CW games to get it now.

I don't think their intention is to make something that's worth ~$23 a guaranteed freebie for people. It is a grand prize after all and should be sufficiently rare. Just be glad it's on the drop table at all. They didn't have to put it there in the first place.
