Instead of limiting the group size with a hard cap, maybe do it like the tiers. Largest group size of opposing force has to be within 2 of your largest group size. So a 12 man could only drop against another 12 or a 10+2. A 10+2 could drop against a 12, 10+2, 9+3, or 8+4 or 8+2+2. etc.


Yes, this would likely mean longer wait times for larger groups, but wouldn't that be better than not being able to form larger groups? Maybe put a tracker showing how many groups of each size are currently dropping show we could see "oh, there are no 12 mans, but their a crap load of 6 mans dropping right now".

I would suggest that PGI removes the option to form a 10men team
the information gain of a 12men over a 10+2men team could be ignored but not the gain in tonnage the 10+2team has over the 12men team.

(I consider teams of casual gamers that don't drop only with hand selected T1 Mechs - but Mechs that are available
