MWO has been in development for 2+ years now, and all I see is the same battle simulator with more Mechs, Maps (read: content).

Has the team given up on creating a better matchmaker that doesn't take so insanely long or do they feel that 3+ minutes of waiting is an acceptable standard?

Has the team given up on creating an alternate form of lag compensation for players who to this date cannot register damage on lights? (Despite the lemming-esque cries of 'L2Aim' I had a great example battle yesterday with my dad where I had the opportunity to put 2x C.LPL and 1x C.UAC10 onto a Light over overheated (at 2 different times in the game) Only 200m away, I alpha'd him and then Hail Mary'd my UAC10, damn a jam or not. I was able to fire of 2 sets of twin large **** and 4 shots of UAC10, the guy powers back up, runs off. I check his damage, and he's in 10-15% armor loss. (not sure if he had that before I attacked him). To me, lights have reigned supreme in this game, and it seems like nothing is ever going to be done about that.

Which leads to the lack of the next feature. Where is the properly-implemented gyro overload? That (once hitboxes are fixed) is to be the thing that strikes fear in a Light pilot when coming up face to face with a Heavy or an Assault. You can get knocked over, and then everyone around you has a chance to off you instantly. It's what forces good Light pilots to harass, take potshots, stay on the larger Mech's six, and to use their speed to break sightlines; not to brazenly engage them in battles.

Has the team given up on optimization passes on the game. For the graphics it touts, there is a lot of jank still.

Where are mission replays? Better ragdolls? Pilot ejection animations? Critical reactors? (though rare) Alternate game modes? Bot AI? I feel like the game is doomed to patch notes that just resolve minor bugs, balance weapons, and add content.

Where is the "Upcoming FEATURES roadmap?" Maybe it's me, but it feels like PGI has given up trying to make the game better, or just assumes that more content suffices for the aforementioned.

I could add a bunch of things to your list like smarter weapon design concerning a lot of things, heat management, information warfare tutorial and so on. In short it seems like the game still needs a bit of an overhaul but perhaps it's not that surprising taking consideration the state from which this business has started from.

Anyways, a lot of the answers should come from the town hall meeting that was held not too long ago.

It looks like PGI has still been doing work on a lot of things but they just seem to have so much to do. In addition to other things there's going to be a new game mode coming out for CW. There's also going to be a new arcade mode in which you get the choose the map from 4 random choices and the game mode is selectable aswell.

In my opinion there was a bit too much arguing about MM though. It seems that the devs seem to be at loss with some things like production order. I would choose to develop any of the things listed above over MM because people critisize it all the time mostly because they aren't winning even though it's understandable if somebody is on a losing streak. I'm not pointing any fingers but there all sorts of ways for development even for the community.
