Stefka, i really like playing with you, but i completely disagree with what you are saying here.

Are we REALLY, at the stage in gaming when giving players a voting system to select which map to play is a BAD thing? WTF. Especially when it's so easy to adjust the base idea to make you complaint null and void:

Instead of giving each player a vote, give each group a vote (group leader votes).
Ta-da! Problem solved, crisis averted. 3 four mans now have 300% of votes of that bad bad evil 12 man.

Well, experiencing how hard PGI is working to keep 12mans happy i dont expect that happen...

And Data Collection - when the "Dislikers" of the new system have left PGI will collect Data and receive Feedback that show them anything is right. ;)

Good idea. Let's see how next patch is.

But in this example there's no 12 premade, and a strong unbalance anyway:
""12 vs 12, 4 maps given, a/b/c/d.

This a probable vote distribution in pug group/solo que:

( 5 a, 1b, 3c, 3d) vs (3a, 2b, 3c, 4d)= 8a, 3b, 6c, 7d

A is the choosen map, and that also favors the larger group------> unbalance.""

Nope. When you give each group 1 vote then distribution is 1 vote on evil-spawn-of-satan-12-man side and average of 4 votes on the smaller groups side. So the probably-the-dark-lord-himself-12-man has 20% of voting power of those opposing it. If that's not enough to outvote the you-know-who then it just means that the smaller groups wanted to play that map AS WELL.

And in solo queue, you treat each player as 1 man group so it's 24 votes total.

Granted, they probably are giving each player a vote, but that can be adjusted later IF NEEDED. For start, i prefer giving maximum flexibility and freedom to players and only restrict it if there's actual problem.

[edit]
Also, can you please rename the thread so that there is a silim chance someone from PGI will look at it instead of skipping somethign that they can only judge by titile as yet another pointless raging thread?

[edit2] ok, after reading your post for 10th time, i finally understood what you mean. Nope man. The larger the group is, the less relevant their vote is, because more smaller groups can have multiple votes for the same number of players, AND you misunderstood my idea. The distribuition you presented would look like this:

( goup1(6man) - a, group2(2man) - b, group3(2man) - c, group4(2man) - d) +
( goup5(3man) - a, group6(3man) - b, group7(3man) - c, group8(3man) - d) =
2 votes for A
2 votes for B
2 votes for C
2 votes for D

So it's a draw, in that case. But let's be frank. If the map selection was so OP, would the 3man from team B vote A? if they voted anything other, it's going to be other map.

is it a sure thing that pgi will give each group 1 vote?
I cannot find this anywhere... has it been clearly said in town hall?

I quote 110% what stefka says, he is totally right. People who do not agree with that evident fact must have some logic malfunction.

I think the real issue is that the new voting system caters to whatever the current "Meta" will be; if enough players use "Meta" then the votes will lean towards that which favors it.

Higher the Tier, the more it will favor that "Meta"

This, to me, will cause players to shy away from the game or at the very least, as the OP says, disconnect from that game.
