MC and Stats should be reset at launch. I've put $400 into this game because I love mech warrior, but I was hoping to reset my MC once the game launches. It would be fair and a perk for all the mech warriors supporting the game thus far.

sure some may want it, but me personally I would hate it. Maybe if you were given the option you could, I would just prefer to leave everything as it is.

Sorry, I put a lot of time and effort into buying stuff and configuring stuff. If they reset the MC and take all that away and make me re-buy it all again, I'll shoot myself. Also, I would prefer not to make it an option because if folks want to spend their MC another way, I would prefer they buy more MC to support the game. Sorry.

Would it reset your efficiencies too? (I suspect you would not want that)

I doubt PGI would do something like this for multiple reasons, I will call out one so I don't make a post that needs a TLDR at the end.

MC reset would allow you to skip Mech's you have already paid for and didn't like or didn't need to use/unlock. Meaning if you bought an MC Mech and unlocked it to Elite, you could spend that MC elsewhere.

What if you spent it on colors or camo sets? Creating a loss of revenue potential for PGI. Looking at it as a business you have balance things carefully, especially if their expectation for main MC purchases are Hero/Camo.

What you are asking for is a "closed beta wipe" scenario. Being in soft launch... ok, ok: open beta. I am ok with things as they are.

Adding another thought on Stat wipe. I disagree with a blanket stat wipe, what I would like to see incorporated is trending data for stats.

Who cares if my first 3 months in the game were .66 W/L or K/D, when my last 6 weeks were 1.8 and 2.8 or something. Trending data versus flat would help everyone see a more accurate representation of their skill "today".

I doubt anyone has an expectation that they would jump into a brand new Mech as a new player and accumulate a 3.0 K/D. Yet a stat wipe might result in that kind of number.

If you have been playing for almost a year and wiped your stats I believe your long term numbers would look quite different, and not represent your overall abilities as a MWO player. It would not take into account what you have learned.

they stated clearly and unequivocally that the very last wipe of any kind was a long time ago. and they promised they would never do it again.

That's a lot of MC......... I've spent $510 on this game ($120 Founders, $80 Phoenix, $10 Sarah, 3x $100 MC injections). Though I would cry the tears of a person having to start all over earning over a million XP, I'd deal with it.....

Really lame. I'm not going to pay anymore money so there wouldn't be a loss of revenue. Just a happy camper if I could reset from total scratch with all my MC. Rome 2 is out next month anyway. I hope to god once all the features come out all of you are like ****! I need to reset my MC for this and that blah blah blah.

I haven't bought any MC yet but I don't think this would be necessary.  I do think a stat wipe should occur though.

While I agree it's unlikely , may I just point out that they have in the past "clearly and unequivocally" stated that they would never add coolant flush or third person view either. How'd that work out? So, you know, not so much /thread.

Your missing the point as to why they wiped the stats and refunded MC to begin with. they did it one last time due to the fact that they had a new system for gathering metrics and statistics of players data put in place. Now that a system is in place for this, their isn't anything new to be gained by doing this. This isn't a "new feature that they initially thought wasn't a good Idea". Also, why would they reimburse anyone's MC? that's like shooting their profits in the foot. its like giving money away. the chances of this happening are infinitesimal, so yes /thread

Stats will be wiped at launch, they have already said as much, but only stats. No mechs, xp or cbills will be lost. This is a good thing. Game balance has been all over the place and stat padding rife, so we actually need a stat reset at launch.

But this thread also proposed a MC reset, and as I've already spent all my founders gold I totally support this idea. Totally.

A XP, GXP, MC wipe will open up a PR can of worms that PGI does not want to deal with. Think players are frustrated with the game now? Wait and see what happens if PGI takes away everything players have accomplished and tell them to start over..

What about people that bought MC stuff that was on sale, but isn't any more? They'd get kinda screwed on an MC reset...that alone is enough reason not to do this...among many other reasons.

No ... we already have too many examples of PGI going back on a statement and changing their position.

I'm OK with a stat wipe (I track all my stats roughly weekly anyway to look for trends), but not MC purchases, and would really be disgruntled if I lose my 2.5 million XP invested in unlocking 'mech efficiencies.

Indeed.

With no exaggeration if this happened I would uninstall the game and not return:
Balance issues I can live with.
Bugs I can live with.
Removing all the things I spent many, many hours of play unlocking?

I'll get my coat.

Oh I rememeber a Closed Beta were a wipe caused made your mech bay empty - but C-Bills to buy the Mechs in the hangar was transfered to your account, as well as all XP spend on those Mechs were available as GXP - so it would last only minutes to get your MechBay look the same as before the wipe

Only PGI will loose when something like that will happen.

No, they have stated repeatedly that everything is final.

Users have made financial decisions based on this information.

Ergo, they will not reset MC, cbills, etc.
