Your name was probably replaced because someone felt your old name was inappropriate. As for your settings I don't know, but maybe it is a side effect of having your name reset.

Do you not realize that PGI will reset your name if it's marginally offensive?

It should've been replaced with "Taco bell" to at least keep the meaning the same

your settings are probably still stored in the folder with the same name as your old name. I bet you got 2 user directories now.

An apparent side effect of the new reporting sytem is that marginally offensive names will be reported much more often because it actually requires very little effort to do so.

Marginally is a great word but it does not make something into something else. For example, op name was not offensive, adding marginally in front of offensive it does not magically make op name marginally offensive.

technically, bothe the use of profanity and the implied violence toward others, either could be construed as offensive. Just because YOU don't find them so does not mean they pass societies muster.

*shrug*

Or even PGI's perception of it. No First Amendment here.

Your settings are still saved under your previous user name.

Folder location
C:\Users\<USERNAME>\Saved Games\MechWarrior Online\Profiles

Simply copy your old settings under a new folder with your new name.

PS:Usefull trick to do when using PTs for the first time.

Your name was obviously removed because it implied violence toward helpless donkeys.

The word ass isnt offensive. Suggesting to set your enemies ass on fire in a game where we literally set each others ass on fire can't be asserted a offensive either. I don't think either can be argued with. Now, if at xmas dinner i told the guy infront of me that i would set his ass on fire, that would be a different story.

It is profanity, which some find offensive, and has always been against the terms of service here. That you indicate you would find it offensive under certain circumstances doesn't really help make the case you tried to make.

Good so my complaint worked :P But in all honesty it serves you right for having a rather stupid name, maybe next time you will think a tad before doing something a 12 year old would think twice about.

the word ass is not offensive to you. Or maybe the majority of society these days. Yet it is still considered profanity. So yes, it can be argued.

Just because society continues to dumb down and embrace profanity as "expression" (instead of what it truly is, a lazy mind unable to find a better way to express itself) has not changed that yet.

Go to most job interviews and start tossing the word around. Outside of the Navy, a fire department or Burger King, it would generally be frowned upon.

From merriam webster's
sometimes vulgar : a stupid, obstinate, or perverse person <made an ass of himself> —often compounded with a preceding adjective <don't be a smart-ass>
1a often vulgar : buttocks —often used in emphatic reference to a specific person <get your ass over here> <saved my ass>
b often vulgar : ****
2
usually vulgar : sexual intercourse

ASS Defined for Kids
ass
noun \ˈas\
Definition of ASS for Kids

1
: an animal that looks like but is smaller than the related horse and has shorter hair in the mane and tail and longer ears : donkey
2
: a stupid or stubborn person Hint:This sense of the word is often considered impolite, and you may offend people by using it.

"vulgar"
4a : lacking in cultivation, perception, or taste : coarse
b : morally crude, undeveloped, or unregenerate : gross
c : ostentatious or excessive in expenditure or display : pretentious
5
a : offensive in language : earthy
b : lewdly or profanely indecent

so again, whether you, I or Bob the Builder find it offensive, it is still, by society, considered to be so.

It cannot be offensive in game. After im done murdering the enemies in game it's offensive to tell them they just got murdered? or fk common sense?

It's called context, look into it.
