Remove Hpg Manifold Entirely

Well, since PGI wants to create a situation that causes your queues to pick HPG MANIFOLD
EVERY F'IN GAME
then, the reality is that PGI just killed all the other maps.
I have a serious authority issue, and generally do exactly what I am told not to. So, since PGI wants to 'DELETE' all the other maps, I vote we just delete HPG MANIFOLD.
And a week from now, we can delete the next mostest favoritest map that 9/10 morons will pick!
Within a couple months we can remove all the maps from the game!

Just because you don't like the map that the VAST MAJORITY enjoys... I'll let you finish that sentence, because it doesn't matter how it starts. This thread was doomed from the title.

Strange, I just dropped my first game on this patch and people picked Canyon Network over HPG...huh

@WilsonChambers yah we will consider that - but as usual I want a patch live for a week before we decide stuff like this
-
Looks like we will have to wait a week until they do some changes. They will have to change something if everyone just plays the same 3 maps over and over.

I actually posted a solution earlier today, and created a constructive conversation.
You're simply complaining. If you want to do that join one of the many other cappy, poorly thought out threads just like your own and post there, rather than drowning out any collaborative effort to find a better solution.

CounterStrike, pretty decent game, had about 20 decent Maps included with the game.
Thanks to idiots and a voting system, the game only has 2 maps that get played..
DUST-2 & DUST-1.
OVER AND OVER AND OVER.
Voting for maps.. = worst decision ever for MWO.

Thirdly, I like the idea of placing hot maps with hot maps, and cold with cold. That may just work.
And sixth, but not last, and certainly least, TeamChevy86: you are a flamer because all you responded with was hate. /hug

1: You don't get stuck on ******* rocks, branches, or other ******** constantly
2: Has clear firing lines, but has cover. No "Fog" ******** like on the new forest.
It's a very nice map. I can see why people pick it.
So no, I think removing it is a poor idea, and only decreases the diversity in maps.

Nice!
If I post something like that, or even less "disturbing", I get reported and my post moderated.
This time, I don't have to post it, just like it from someone else
edit:
Oh, btw:

1) Size. It is small! People whine about small maps but really, we don't want the big ones. Thing is, there are slow Mechs in game too, some can't upgrade their engines (DW comes to mind) and it is possible that on many huge maps these Mechs can actually never get into battle given how slow they are!
2) Because of 1) and map design, every Mech can fight on HPG and fight well! Fast Mechs have plenty of cover and multi-layer terrain, mediums and heavies have sniping spots and great brawling areas. Assaults can get to battle fast and put their big guns to use without spending 4 minutes to get into battle. On HPG every Mech can do what is supposed to do, which can't be said about most other maps that are simply too big for some 30-40% of Mech pool.
3) Already mentioned, map design. Rock-paper-scissors perfection. One example. Pick a random spot somewhere where battles occur. From that point you can clearly cover a large area, do a lot of damage. But at whatever spot you picked, you can still easily be flanked, zerged by lights, sniped or face some area denial. This leads to situations where you can always come up with something to hit your enemy, and you can implement it fast! You will never have to say anything like "damn, they are camping there, we have to wait for 4-5 minutes before action happens".
4) No obligatory camping spots, no obligatory bottlenecks. Most maps have some but HPG is relatively free of these tactical landmines. Places that you must cover in order not to be killed by 3 enemy Mechs make sence in real life but in game such situations are incredibly boring because every battle looks the same. HPG is different. Want the basement? To your hearth's desire! Want push left flank? You can ignore right flank, no problem. Want to hold the top and hide in shadow of it, waiting for opportunity? You can do that perfectly well. You can pick your strategy and perform well, the map doesn't push you into anything. It offfers you a lot but doesn't force you to any repetitive steps.
HPG is one of the best maps we have in regards to actual gameplay. You can nascar, you can play king-of-the hill, you can lurm like there is no tomorrow, you can zerg with lights, you can flank, you can bunker up or camp. All is possible but nothing is prohibited. All that is possible because of its small size and very solid design. Top map in my eyes

It's not that the vast majority enjoys this or that map. People are voting for the maps that gives their builds the advantage. It makes you look like an idiot when you say that everybody loves Frozen City when its an option. Or everyone loves HPG when it but not Frozen is offered.
