Hey all!

Just tried to play some PTS matches, and I found something very strange. It appears to be broken.

100% heavy queue, 0% all the other queues? Or then 50% assault, 50% light?

Plus, with 4x4 matches, we should be getting matches near-instantly, right?

But for some reason, I'm waiting a long time.

These numbers seem to indicate that no-one is playing PTS.

I wonder why?

It's almost as if players would like a reward for playing the PTS.

Doesn't need to be huge, but our premium time is burning away in the background, and we're not earning C-bills or XP.

I don't mind putting aside all that to test. I enjoy it. But when no-one else wants to because they get nothing, I understand. And it means that those of us who just want to test and provide feedback can't.

Let's face it. This game is grindy. It's a F2P game, so it's expected, and I'm not complaining. But you can't both make a really grindy game and make a PTS that provides absolutely no rewards and then expect people to play it.

I just can't fathom how anyone thought giving no rewards was a good idea.

So according to your numbers there was you and one other person on the PTS. HILARIOUS!

In EU it was Champions League (Soccer) Day/Night - so i guess a sigfnificant amount of People were watching their favourite Teams.

And maybe the "Tyranny of the Major Minority" is not working out that well...

I reckon it's more like the opportunity to work for PGI for free and not even get in-game rewards for the time you spend there that can cover for your loss of in-game rewards had you played on the live server instead, just isn't that enticing.

Agreed, give us something for the effort. Not like anything we do or suggest actually matters to them. I haven't downloaded it on my new machine and won't without incentive. Leave it for the tryhards but it seems they are leaing it too.

Well on the one hand they are giving the players an opportunity to have input on the upcoming changes.

But, since obviously there are no playtesters being hired or therefore paid for, the players who are testing should be compensated in some way, and I don't honestly think a reasonable amount of MC is too far out of the question

I just found out about the PTS being live about an hour ago and I've been installing since then. I expect numbers to increase by the second day its up, that or later today at least.

Right now the numbers are 10%, 40%, 40%, 10%. So I imagine there's 10 people in the queue. Maybe 20.

The matchs run are 4v4 from my only pub drop. The rest were private drops with Mcgral.

Private drops may be an idea (just buy 7-days of premium time with the free MC you start with anyways).

I'm not suprised.

Last PTS, I spent 3 out of 4 hours "searching" for games. On a PRIME TIME saturday night ! I DID NOT GET ONE GAME !!!

I am not even slightly exaggerating those numbers.

It was pretty ridiculous. Wasted an entire night of gaming, with my only minor perk being able to to unlimited builds in the mechlab. Which I could do in smurphy anyways.

Such a waste.

And here I was super excited to get on PTS and play some 4 v 4 pug matches. PTS is a complete joke. I bet all of 25 people use it over the course of a day :(

I wouldnt bet on it.

But I would be happy to be surprised. As much as it will probably be wasteful, gonna get on test for a couple hours. But if I don't get a match in less than an hour I'm done.

I got into a bunch of matches a few hours ago (around 5-6pm US East Coast time). Wait times were a lot better to compared to last time (maybe 2-3 minutes instead of 10+). I think most people just want to play the PTS for a few matches to get a feel of the changes, then go back to the production servers. You should try again around 5-6pm US East Coast time on Friday or Saturday when people start playing, you may catch more people who are curious about the PTS.

4v4 was a good thing though, mechs last a lot longer. Can't wait for a version of it to get into production.

Matches were only quicker because they're 4x4. That's 8 'Mechs to find instead of 24. 1/3 as many.

As well, 4v4 matches (while nice in their own right) play very differently than 12v12 matches, and trying to balance weapons and 'Mechs in this kind of environment is just...wrong. It doesn't work. You can't isolate what you want to test when you have such an extreme difference like that.

I'm with the OP. I'll go PTS when I get CBills for doing so.

Til then I'm levelling Mechs in the other dessert known as CW.
