OR,,,
how about a real time 'this map is next up" so we can decide to drop on it or not BEFOR entering the round lobby/wait room
given the choice, i refuse to drop on tera therma, for example, so I have 3 choices,
(1) play a map i hate and is no fun/interest to me at all (KILLS ppls love of the game)
(2) AFK the round not bother to play,(great way to fk over all others on your team)
OR, (3) D/C, making round uneven before it starts, (same as #2)
NONE of these options foster good will or 'fun' only breeds animosity and a desire to play most ANYTHING else
the over all affect (for me) with some these 'changes/improvements' for so long is what made me go from playing 10+ rounds a day to maybe 1-5 rounds A WEEK!
at the very least, let us choose weight class BEFOR entering a map, THEN, choose specific mech AFTER drop map is announced.

Obviously, you don't work in software development. I've never ever had a piece of software or software patch ever go 100%. You change a section of code and it can lead to problems super easily. You leave in one REM or /* statement and boom, you have a meltdown. No in house testing can work out every bug or error. Only when you unleash it to the public to do you get a true test of what you've written. I personal take stuff to our Murphy Law intern that breaks everything he touches. If he can't break it, then the public probably can't either.

You have one of those too? We had got one of those in our office about 2 years ago. I had to get the head of IT to tell the office manager that the kid literally wasn't allowed within 30 feet of the server room or a network closet. No, I'm not joking. Everything this kid touched ended up fubar. Walking, talking, example of entropy.

Its not like it wasnt common knowledge that there are certain maps that suck, looking at you caustic, alpine, terra, bog to some extent.
We as the community have been asking to opt out of maps that we think suck for literally years. Stop bitching.

Bog is my favorite map
Why is having things to get hung up on BAD? The real world isn't all smooth and even footing. Stuff gets in the way unless you're in a city. I rarely get hung up on anything, especially on Bog which I know like the back of my hand, to great effect.
Shooting skill isn't the only skill, piloting skill is just as, if not more important. Not all maps should be cluttered, but not all maps should be uncluttered, either. The only map I ever had a problem with was old Forest Colony... It was too small for 12v12.Once it got updated, I love all the maps n.n Still getting accustomed to the new Caustic, and River, though.

Neckbeards don't go outside, other than to bestbuy or frys to by more computer parts. If you go into a jungle, swamp, or forest once in a while, you'd understand that even 40' tall 100 ton war machines would have trouble navigating through that stuff. Hell, I work with 100 ton construction equipment and it's a lot harder to drove a bulldozer through a forest than you would think.
And I actually like most of the maps now... crimson needs a graphics cleanup, but the layout is good and frozen city day needs dynamic weather so it's not all thermal all the time.
