This thread can't possibly be true.

There's 27 other threads saying that nothing is being played but skirmish on cold maps. So, I can't see how assault is even happening right now.

One of the problems with the Assault mode is if one team starts capping and the other team is closer to the enemy team's base than their own, they'd go for a cap instead of going all the way back to base. Then it turns into a cap race with the team with more mechs in the magic square wins. They really should just have one base for the teams to fight over.

100 Skirmish : 10 Assault : 1 Conquest

I just finished a 10 month break and am promptly taking another till this big game changing patch takes place. I never really quit, but I'm definitely not putting any more money in this year.

We almost always get killed, being a lance down, before the cap-rushers cap. Then the cap-rushers get killed.

I used to be able to deselect Assault when the cap-rushers were out in force. But now - thanks to map voting - they can force the rest of us to play their own stupid version of MechWalker Online.

I posted this after 5 such matches in a row. Is anyone else experiencing this? And, any ideas how to mitigate the frequency of this very unsatisfying kind of match, and get back to actual Mech combat?

Most people only seem to get skirmish myself included from what I have seen. I would kill to be able to play more assault and conquest but it is skirmish skirmish skirmish which I hate with a passion. My guess is that if you are actually getting assault and people are doing that then it is them trying to make a point about how stupid the voting system is by making the game as lackluster as possible for everyone. I say good for them.

The only problem i see is that since skirmishers are put in conq/assault we sometimes have no light and the enemy has lights. If you don't get what im saying, keep capping thinking it's the best option, maybe one day youll get to play vs people who know what they are doing. I doubt that will happen with people being forced into game mode they dont want to play/learn.

As usual people are gaming the system forced on us by PGI. Don't wanna play the mode/map you ended up on? Well simply troll the opposing team by insta-capping on assault. Maybe rush in and go splat because you hate skirmish, likely costing your side the match. I had a guy on my "team" overheat and commit suicide last night as soon as the match started. I'm positive it had nothing to do with the fact that we dropped on Terra Therma. The quality of matches since voting has been implemented had plummeted for me personally, and based on the posts in this thread, it has for many of you as well. Tough. You idiots wined about how you hated this map or that map, and how long it takes to get a match because we could eliminate/select certain game modes. Well, PGI gave you a "solution" so enjoy it morons.

There are no "teams" in solo queue, just sides.

So it's a "team" problem. Either use chat or VOIP? No? ESP?

How is PGI supposed to fix your solo queue pug drop so your side. and the other, uses teamwork to attack or defend the objective when people will not even use the tools on hand and that were asked for?

baserushes come and go. its like losingstreaks. you get some good fights. then you get some bad fights or(in this particular case) baserushes. no need to go to the forum and complain. get over it.

That is a lot of us complained about maps and modes and PGI decided to stuff it down our throats
By letting us players have what we want
Then when we realize mob rule does not work we will beg for the old system to come back

I didn't ask for map voting.

I think I'd rather PGI just randomise maps and modes in their entirety, so that large groups can't min/max their decks for specific maps and modes, and so that the cap rushers have to fight every now and then.

BUT PGI could poll players about maps, and fix the unpopular aspects of the unpopular maps. Ideally the goal should be for all of us to be happy on all maps.

I've seen this pretty often. "f*** conquest" then overheat and die. I just report what I saw in all chat and ask everyone to report the player. We'll see if PGI actually dies anything about it. They're probably swarmed with BS reports right now. I hate assault and conquest in pug matches but I'll ride this out in the sake of better MM and faster drop times. Can't say I've really noticed a difference though. I think combining the small player base was a good move, they just need to randomize it now.

Sounds like they just want to get it over with so they can move on to the next match which they hope will be Skirmish instead of anything with capping.
