I liked how in 'Mech 4 mercs when you entered the arenas for tournaments or even just skirmishes there would be this announcer that would tell everyone who you are and would say interesting/entertaining things during and right after the matches.

I would love for this to come back (that is if arenas will be made.....I'm sure they will).

I want real ppl too do this tho. Maybe take them from the champions of past leaderboards......or me since I suggested this. :3

Everyone pretty much assumes if there's a Solaris of some sort, Ledoux will be involved. He did the voices for free as I understand it in MW:LL and obviously was the voice in MW4, PGI aren't fools.

Schnuff are you suggesting that all server hosters of Solaris Arena matches has a staff sitting and just waiting to announce players as they come ... ? A rather futile suggestion imo, and resource intensive one too. Having a built in commentator is much more applicable.

i would love to some REAL Solaris7 tournaments

and by real i mean an actual tournament with ladders and rounds hosted by the game devs (advertised weeks in advance), with a live commentator (most likely a chosen dev team member or dedicated fan) and actual prizes, like lots of Cbill, the real money meta game currency (what ever they decide to call it), or some rare mech. you get the idea

the actual battles can be fought on some separate server where the public (those not fighting) can join and watch the match as an observer. It would be very cool, but probably quite unlikely.

besides, dont they have this kind of thing for star craft? tourney with live commentary?

Yes, and I don't understand why. That's like having commentary for Chess or Rock/Paper/Scissor. Don't misunderstand me, I'm a HUGE StarCraft fan, and I play probably 4-5 times a week and am in Gold/Platinum (probably more Gold though, I'm not that great.) I just don't understand how that game could possibly be exciting enough to have announcers for it like its a sport.

It would be kind of fun to participate in something like that for MechWarrior though.

If they can get Ledoux for the game, I'd like to see more than one announcer, maybe have them randomize in Solaris VII games? I'm sure one of the devs could do an announcer voice. I kinda got tired of hearing Duncan Fisher in MW4:M after about the 90th Solaris match, which means... I'll be tired of him within a week of Solaris VII being implemented.

I'd really want to do it many because I have a fun luvin redneck voice and I think it would be awesome for this.
