Of course, in nerfing the 3M they forgot the LCT-1E existed. What it lacks in range and rate of fire over the old LCT-3M quirks it more than makes up for with the extra hard-point and the heat-quirks.

I must have been doing it wrong all this time...
Go into the Locust thread - I have vids and screenies galore of great games with the SMP boat. It's just as viable as the ML boat. It's a different play style. I use them both, and they are both excellent mechs. I have had some of my best games on alpine and tourmaline in the SMP boat.

I've got video and screenshots of amazing games in the SPL boat, too. Actually, almost all of my countless uber-Locust shots are with 5xSPL on the LCT-3M ranging from pre-Clan to post-quirk. It's not that you can't use SPL, though, it's that ML post-quirk are far more consistent. SPL is risky business at with ACH and fast-tracking Heavies/Assaults with super-short quirked beam durations prowling around. It also gets tricky to play on certain maps, like Alpine or Tourmaline. The ML quick-poke, however, is far less work for the same or better results. It takes about as much work as playing a BJ-1X, which is to say not much at all.
I take the SPL boat if I feel like playing aggressive defense for the team. I take the ML boat if I want to go on the complete offense and carry matches on my own.

Congratulations and welcome to the club!
Don't let others belittle your performance. 8 kills (3 of them even solo kills) is a respectable accomplishment, and seeing your damage, you didn't just run in for the last hit.

The LCT-1E is one of the most heavily quirked mechs in the game (even with the recent range nerf), and it absolutely wrecks as long as you play it correctly.
Get back to me when you achieve AoS in, say, a Vindicator.
Off-topic: I also prefer the 6ML version, but the 6SPL is a beast, no doubt.

i had 7 kills at this point, i was out of ac5 ammo from the battle but i still had 4 mpls. we knew there was an ecm spider because i had seen it in the battle and the other guy didnt kill it. i knew he was cored, one well placed hit would take him down. we had played a little hide and seek in the vicinity of the tunnel and upper city for several minutes, and then we lost him, we figured he was going to hide and preserve his kdr. but the spider had other plans and went through my team mate sweeping his other leg. he ran by me taking out one of my legs and then i saw him dart towards the center entrance to the tunnel so i worked my way to the trench leading into the tunnel. the clock had come down to 40 seconds. it came down to a final joust in the tunnel. i missed, he went through my other leg and end of game. no ace. i have to say that was one of the best games ever.

Even if there were, you can play around them.

Not anywhere near as beastly since the dissipation quirks. I toned it down to 5xML just to keep the heat in check. Boo-hiss!
It's like there's some un-written rule where Locusts are not allowed to have competitively sustainable alphas exceeding ~25 points.

Please note that he never said a ''good pilot'' but THE RIGTH PILOT, and i too believe the same trend, the rigth pilot, with the rigth mech, can be an absolute terror in the battlefield, i've seen vypers wreking almos anything in their path... oh the horror...

The Locust 1E is a powerful Mech, so I'm not surprised that it's possible to achieve 8 kills in it.
But this is not to take away from your achievement. 8 kills is hard to achieve in any Mech.

Yep. I play casual solo. Very rarely do I play in a group or group que. I also don't do many hours long play sessions. There was a time when the game had no achievements and I'm not one of those achievement hounds playing to get achievement x. I am one of the better light pilots with a jenner. Play a game for fun not e-preen.

How do you people even get so many kills?
Most I've ever gotten is 5 kills, achieved 3 times on a Centurion over the course of ~3 years.
Also congrats OP

I had to use my brawler D-DC Atlas to achieve it. That is pretty amazing that you got it with Locust!
